  1. I'll probably pick up a G2 once we are a triband market. As of now I am not aware of anything other than band 25 in the city. Am I missing something? (Not talking about "one tower out in concord".) "Normal" speeds uptown continue to be ~0.25 Mbps down and that is what I am seeing today.
  2. This is the fastest result I have ever seen uptown but I'll have to try again in the middle of the day to see if it sticks Edit: band 25, still rocking the LGOG
  3. LG G2 also a good option, I think it runs cheaper than Nexus 5 on swappa
  4. Just came here to high five everybody, we've got Lollipop up and running on the Optimus G! LTE & MMS both working well
  5. Or they'll do like Verizon did, and bring the Z3 to Sprint in March as the "Z4s"
  6. That's why I switched to the family share plan. No need to feel guilty about sitting on an upgrade, instead each month that goes by I am just saving another $35...
  7. Eh, deleting my post, too negative. Excited for more bands.
  8. With all due respect, that's not "it works perfectly", it's more like "here is a workaround I have settled on that is not too troublesome". Should be enough for a lot of people though, thank you
  9. "Protect" iPhone sales from Motorola? Lol
  10. I agree, the moto ui would be better, but at $200 vs $575 or whatever I'll just root and use xposed mods. Especially when the $200 option has the bigger battery
  11. This about how I am feeling. Want a Moto X with bigger battery and better camera? Here it is http://m.intomobile.com/2014/09/15/want-new-moto-x-heres-buy-lg-g2-instead/
  12. No other forum on the internet is so dedicated to renaming threads as is S4GRU.
  13. I sprintegrated and turned off gv in hangouts, now no duplicates but no emoji either :'/
  14. The latest hangouts update seems to have borked it for me, though the timing could also just be a coincidence. Also, when I saw the 60+ texts was when I tried the option to send from Google Voice, rather than smart reply. Fortunately I had just sent it to myself...
  15. I guess I'm kind of in the camp of "it's not different enough from the Nexus 5 anyway". I was hoping for something closer in size to last year's Moto X, but with the additional LTE bands. Oh well, on to waiting for Sony announcement.
  16. And confirmed by Punit Soni it was a carrier decision. So there's that. "Why carriers carry or not carry phones has a lot to do with their portfolio, requirements and how OEMs slot into them." - from the Google+ thread already linked
  17. You get a double when hangouts sends via SMS and it then shows up as gv as well. The setting to always send via gv doesn't work properly with the sprint integration. With the Smart Reply feature, it will choose the send type based on the last message you received in the thread to which you are responding. With sprint integration on, incoming SMS are interpreted as gv, so responses will send via gv and you won't see a duplicate. However, group texts or pictures are interpreted as (non-gv) mms and are received at the sprint number. So replies to those will send via SMS and then spawn a gv duplicate. Subject to change if google/sprint decide to fix it
  18. You can set SMS to default to sending from Google Voice (which is the same number if you are Sprintegrated), should eliminate the duplicates[Edit: doesn't seem to work]
  19. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size is a good tool for this as well
  20. Sprint integration option was back up in the website, I pushed it through and set up with hangouts, emoji and mms both working.
  21. If you bring your own device, the new plans are cheaper. If you still want new phones, stay on everything data. I have been pleased enough with my used Optimus g but I always felt I was paying too much on my monthly bills since I wasn't using the upgrade. Now it feels a lot more "fair".
  22. Say I have an old nexus s lying around, not activated on a Sprint line. If I have Google voice integrated through Sprint, in theory I should be able to text from it and call on it through hangouts, and it should appear as my regular Sprint number. I think?
