  1. do you know if a site visit is required for this type of update?
  2. 2018 is really shaping up to be Sprints year, They're off to a great start. Can't wait for the fiscal 2018 year to start so they have more money to spend on the network.
  3. Don't know how I didn't see this. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Hopefully this is coming to NYC as well. This will help with VoLTE as well.
  4. that worked, but doesn't display bandwidth. pretty much shows everything that SCP shows. I only saw it on one site which im not near at the moment but it did hold for a while and even cycling airplane mode the phone connect to it again and SCP displayed 10x10 again. I am going to drive to the site again and do some more testing soon
  5. I believe we do as well, that's why I hopeful it's real. i think with that set up sprint can still have 3 voice carriers and 1 data carrier in the PCS spectrum. And then there is also the 1x800 voice carrier. Any idea how to access engineering screen on a moto E4 Plus. This phone has excellent RF reception by the way.
  6. i think Sprint might finally be reducing 3G for more LTE. I saw this on Long island but i think the spectrum assets are the same for LI and NYC. Not sure if this is a SCP error cause I've never seen it here before.
  7. This morning I no longer had access to Verizon roaming in the East River tunnel for the LIRR. Normally I have access to 1X the whole ride and sometimes 3G but I never have access to data. Only voice calls and texts go through. Still had no access as I took my 5:20 train home. I wonder if Verizon shut down the 3G in the tunnel or even in Penn Station. Or maybe just blocking roaming. Or maybe they are doing work. It was one of the plus side of having Sprint over AT&T or T-Mobile. I hope this isn't a permanent thing. Edit still no signal in the tunnel today. Brought a verizon phone with me and it had LTE the whole time. Turned it to 3G only and still had a signal. I hope Verizon roaming isn't ending yet.
  8. Not really sure what to look for in LA but I have connected to a lot of B41 MM sites according to SCP. My guess is these replaced the Clear equipment because I haven't seen any clear sites. Any idea what the PCS spectrum is like here? Is it 5x5 in the G block and 10x10 in the A-F blocks? Or is the 10x10 I'm seeing a combination of 5x5 in the G block plus 5x5 in the C block Also I have yet to see any B26 here, I know there has been some sighting but I haven't had any. It would really come in handy here I am contently bouncing between very weak B41 to weak B25 to unusable 3G. When connected to B41 speeds have been great though. Multiple sites reach over 100Mbps during none peak hours and still over 30 during peak times. B25 on the other hand is anywhere between 3 to 10Mbps even on the 10x10 Carrier. Edit: Also noticed that Config 2 hasn't been turned on here yet. I am getting upload speeds over 9Mbps most of the time on B41
  9. Heading to San Diego tomorrow. I'll mostly be downtown but I'll be on the look out for small cells.
  10. Just left JFK Airport for LAX. Noticed that Sprint now has a DAS in Terminal 5. I recall them posting about it recently. While is only 2xCA it provided amazing signal and speeds. Here is the only and only speed test I took
  11. I'll be flying into LAX tonight and I'll be reporting on the state of the sprint network there. I believe both Verizon and AT&T have tower in and around the airport. I know 2 to 3 years ago people on reddit.com/r/tmobile were reporting issues at the airport and t-mobile had 1 or 2 new sites on air in about 1.5 years on top of the parking garages. I also have a t-mobile sim so i'll be testing that as well but I believe its only 2xCA since its a moto e plus 4th edition.
  12. thats a pretty genius set up for big cities. you end up with more capacity than full build 3xCA site 60mhz vs 80mhz. You lose out on some range but in NYC where the network is so dense you don't need that range as much. You also lose out on max speed but I would take more capacity or top speed anyday. edit: and its probably alot cheaper as well
  13. is this the same base station equipment of a normal MM but with 8t8r antennas?
  14. what borough? curious if this was the result of the altice agreement. it just seems pretty quick to happen, unless it was already in the planing stages
  15. has anyone else ever come across this. this is the second time i've seen it. both times i was at a job site so i couldn't really focus on my phone. not sure if its just a SCP mistake .
  16. just notice the lastest coverage map had a lot less roaming for inland Puerto Rico and it also shows up as LTE Plus. On the voice only map it shows as sprint coverage but signal strength varies. only other place thats like that is the swiftel network. Im assuming the map is now showing open mobile service.
  17. Altice is hitting 400mbps/40mbps in most areas for residential service, not sure if thats the max for business use as well but its 100% better than LTE relay Is it safe to assume that all the former Clear Small Cells in NYC are currently being run off fiber or a wired connection. Was there such a thing as WiMax relay or the equipment for it back then? I would think LTE relay small cells are the ones that were added later on it allowed them to get them running quicker, not having to wait for fiber to be ran.
  18. Unfortunately the hurricane clean up is still taking place and I have a feeling it's going to take a while longer. I've been following the progress on fcc.gov/maria unfortunately no break down of the carriers
  19. any idea why the Houston market?
  20. if its not on the approved list of BYOD than you can't use it.
  21. These speeds are really good for only 10 x 10 mhz of CA spectrum. I honestly think there aren't many sprint customers left in the city. I struggle to hit 20mbps at 1am in my market with the same conditions.
