  1. Do you have SCP screen shots. Curious how that displays MIMO Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. crazy how small these things are! tower companies want to charge more for the weight but these antennas are all in one solutions and are much smaller.
  3. Not as high as I thought but I guess it's really for capacity during peak times. I wonder how these will compare to the 4 or 5 carrier B41 sites Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Interesting location. I'm going to try and make it out there this weekend but it's no so accessible. Now I have an excuse to go back to Mill basin deliSent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. Just a few mins ago 33rd and 3rd Ave on a full sprint site. I honestly think sprint is the best in Manhattan. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. Very possible this is why my speeds increase. its crazy that in the middle of the day in such a busy area I can reach speeds of 100Mbps.
  7. Anyone know if the Empire State Building has a DAS in it? I noticed a really strong B25 10x10 signal inside of it. Almost to strong to be from a Macro Site. The 1X signal also has the BSL note that says "Empire State Building" I noticed around the same time the speeds from the Macro site by my office one block away almost doubled in speeds. I would max out at 50Mbps but now I've seen 100Mbps. I average 40 to 70 now. Before its was 20 to 40. Its a old clear site. I guess it could be a 3rd Carrier but I've never seen 3xCA in the debug menu. When these Clear sites got a 3rd carrier are they able to do 3x CA or are they still stuck with 2xCA?
  8. Any idea what the max speed is for 3xCA B41 with the current config and 256QAM and 2x2? and what it will be once they turn on 4x4? i recall the max being around 330 mbps with 64QAM about 110 per a 20mhz carrier.
  9. Is it possible the engineering screen on the GS9 can be wrong. I've only seen 64QAM displayed during data sessions
  10. hopefully some of those 7000 strand mounts are also in the Westchester area. I have a feeling more than few of them are in Long Island.
  11. Any idea how density is being increased up north? Are they doing more light post MMs? I would think with Sprint existing towers and all of the clear only sites they would have pretty good density like Manhattan.
  12. I'll be there in a heart beat once someone locates it. the article also mentions that some of the MIMO equipment is live for commercial testing. I just don't understand the hold up for 256QAM and 4x4 MIMO on current equipment. They demoed it in New Orleans over a year ago.
  13. http://newsroom.sprint.com/sprints-next-gen-network-build-gains-momentum.htm there is a better picture of the massive MIMO equipment in Brooklyn, maybe someone can figure out where it is now.
  14. I just got a new record in Brooklyn as well. Crown Heights on Eastern Parkway. Debug menu only shows 64QAM Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  15. I wonder if this the the tower right there. Its on the building next to the movie theater. Last time i was in the area it was still only B25/26.
  16. What part of Baldwin? Last I checked Baldwin didn't have any B41. Only B41 coverage from towers in RVC and Freeport.
  17. Prayers have been answered. Somehow sprint has LTE in Penn Station. I havent seen any change in the DAS antennas that are all over but I'm getting strong B25 signals. Same set up as above ground 10x10 + 5x5. Speeds aren't great but it's better than before. I guess this is sort of a GMO conversation type of set up for a DAS. edit: just got confirmation there is also B26 but B41 is still pending with no date. my guess is the antennas can't broadcast 2500mhz
  18. Random question and didn't know where to post but just saw this thread and its perfect. Not sure if its been answered yet. I know the Magic Box is basically two components. 1. the small/pico cell itself and 2. the backhaul relay. I was wondering how they connect. Does the backhaul module basically connect to the cell via Ethernet? Could someone take apart a Magic Box and use the relay for free internet? In no way am I encouraging any illegal activity I'm just wondering if its possible or this is something Sprint has implemented security features against.
  19. also update on that COW it is for the gay pride march. If it is Sprint it still isn't on yet.
  20. A little detective work and i found the exact spot of the strand small cell. I really hope they start to deploy these more rapidly. I wonder if these also broadcast WiFi for the optimum / cable WiFi hotspots https://www.google.com/maps/@40.8494995,-73.6441074,3a,75y,163.45h,89.87t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sOe0CpoSYe1ghnNs9tR08Xg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  21. I'm actually from LI. But I'm actually moving into Manhattan in a week. I've spotted 2 strand mount small cells so far. One I know the exact location and was able to take pictures. I think I posted about it on reddit but might not of had pictures yet. The other ice only connected to while driving. My legs probably have alot more but I've only witnessed 2. The one I found had B41 relay for backhaul which was annoying since altice has coax everywhere. Range is a fraction of the MMs in NYC
  22. Didn't think it was sprint. And I haven't noticed any other equipment present in the area but I'll walk around lunch time to see if there is anything else. I'm still connected to the standard Clear B41 site. could it be possible they are replacing it and wanted to have a back up solution to pick up the weight of the tower being offline?
  23. Anyone know who this COW belongs to? It was put up yesterday on the corner of 33rd St and 5th Ave, right across the street from the Empire State Building. Its facing south. I couldn't find any up coming events in the area that it could be added capacity for.
  24. I recall reading or hearing that the plan was to cover all of Manhattan with Massive MIMO first. Possible just testing is taking place in Queens or Brooklyn.
