  1. http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/articulo/cartera/economia/2017/06/16/sprint-pone-la-mira-en-telefonica-mexico So it looks like Sprint may be planning on buying Telefonica (Movistar) in Mexico. What do y’all think?
  2. Just like the Intel phones used to...:/. That’s why I think there may be an update to field test coming soon.
  3. Operators all over the world have roaming agreements with T-Mobile. Most of their customers’ devices have B2 support but not B25. B25 is boutique band unique to Sprint. Put short B2 would stay around for a while both due to support issues with older T-Mobile phones as well as international roaming.
  4. There are T-Mobile devices that don’t support Band 25 but do support Band 2.
  5. I would assume so. We’d probably see MBFI for PCS (25/2), AWS (66/4) and 800 (26/5 in Myrtle Beach).
  6. Something else to note - field test no longer works in the second iOS 11 beta, at least on my iPhone 6S. That’s something I’m going to miss a lot. Hoping Qualcomm phones will get a new field test in a coming update like the Intel ones recently did.
  7. I suspect Sprint isn’t quite ready to roll VoLTE out to all iOS beta users for fear of diminishing the user experience. Doing what they’ve done doesn’t diminish user experience at all. In fact, it actually improves user experience. See before this update, calls would pretty much always drop when you left wifi. Now they hand off to LTE. The (now VoLTE) call may drop later on, but there’s also a good chance it will be sustained until the user hangs up. Let’s consider the worst case scenario with this implementation - that every call that hands off to LTE drops. Even then, we’re still back to what would have happened on wifi calling before.
  8. Still in beta. I’m sure the implementation will be more complete by the time iOS 11 officially launches.
  9. If anyone has an iPhone with iOS 11 beta 2 and wants to experience calling plus, you now can. Place a wifi call and then disable wifi. VoLTE .
  10. Since when has Sprint been deploying sub-20-MHz channels on Band 41? This doesn’t seem cost effective to me...
  11. AT&T LTE roaming has actually been quite usable in my experience. Music streaming and web browsing worked just fine...
  12. I think you should definitely try. What was most surprising to me was that T-Mobile was broadcasting on Sprint's MCC/MNC (310/120). That makes me think that there very well could be something going on.
  13. Were you able to pass any data? Was this the only tower you connected to?
  14. A few days ago there was a report of a T-Mobile iPhone 7 with an Intel modem (no CDMA) activating on Sprint’s LTE network...
  15. Yes, it appears AT&T roaming is only available in specific areas.
  16. Quite a few sites planned in both states - I don’t have all of the details yet but will share more soon . EDIT: I’m not sure if I’m allowed to talk about individual sites in the non-sponsor sections...if you’re a sponsor then stay tuned in those forums.
  17. That’s what I’ve been thinking. If CellularOne operated a PCS network, all Sprint would have to do is swap CellularOne’s old RRUs out with Samsung NV RRUs and ground equipment. They could run 1x/LTE over CellOne’s antennae ala Sprint’s current (and ongoing) GMO deployment. With the ~200 to 250 sites I estimate they have, the whole footprint could probably be up and running in under three months (~3 sites a day). Sadly, though, as far as I know, there aren’t plans for an extensive buildout in Montana in the immediate future. I’d keep my eyes on South Dakota and Wyoming if I were you .
  18. Does anyone know what type of network (GSM/WCDMA/1x/EVDO/HSPA) CellularOne operated in Montana and over which frequencies?
  19. Appalachian Wireless roaming was previously not Extended (pseudo-native) although it is now. If it is still counting against your roaming bucket then something is wrong...
