  1. I’m asking because your math doesn’t make sense, at least to me. There wouldn’t be 1.5 MHz of contiguous spectrum to put a 1x carrier in, as your math would suggest. Did you read my post at all?
  2. But the guard band for a 15x15 LTE carrier is 0.75 MHz on each side, right? Wouldn’t that mean that one guard band would have to be outside of the licensed block to allow for a 1x carrier?
  3. Not really. That’s why we don’t anticipate a full shutdown for quite some time.
  4. A boutique band has been created for Dish (Band 70): - Downlink: PCS H Block downlink + AWS-4 (1995-2020) - Uplink: AWS-3 (1695-1710)
  5. Dish’s spectrum holdings are: - 6 MHz 700 E Block (722-728) - 15 MHz of AWS-3 (1695-1710) - 10 MHz FDD PCS H Block (1915-1920, 1995-2000) - 40 MHz FDD of AWS-4 (2000-2020, 2180-2200)
  6. Right now they are prioritizing LTE upgrades on towers that are still WCDMA only. Until that is done, they are putting HSPA-capable towers on the back burner.
  7. The DAS in the park is exclusive to AT&T and I believe it’s only WCDMA/HSPA.
  8. Config 2 doesn’t help things either. Since the change to Config 2, even with a -80 dBm signal, I have trouble pulling more than 5 mbps upload. At -110 dBm, I’m lucky to pull half a megabit.
  9. When I first switched to Sprint, I couldn’t place a call at my house. Today I can easily pull 130-140 mbps download on LTE at home. They’ve certainly come a long way.
  10. This is already happening in the Seattle market. In the past two months in my usual area I’ve seem roughly 25 swapouts of regular NV equipment for triband antennas/radios. Exciting stuff.
  11. No...it’s 5x5 nationwide, 10x10 in many large metros, 15x15 in San Francisco and Miami and 20x20 in the New York Tri-State area. See here if you’re curious: http://maps.spectrumgateway.com/dish-600-mhz.html
  12. SMS goes over LTE on iPhones. Go to Settings > General > About and tap the Carrier field until you see IMS Status. When on LTE, it should say SMS.
  13. That happens from time to time on all Qualcomm iPhones since the iPhone 6S. Just restart Field Test.
  14. Could be an outage or something—I haven’t heard anything. Let us know if it comes back.
  15. One day when our smartphones are very advanced...
  16. I’ve got an iPhone 8. Maybe you’re right. I also recently got off off the iOS beta program. It’s possible the update may only be for people who are enrolled... (I don’t know if you are)
  17. Hmm mine doesn’t seem to want to prompt me to update…
