  1. T-Mobile and Sprint are both pretty bad. AT&T and Verizon are both pretty good due to the fact they have equipment at the center of the airport.
  2. Small cells in Seattle broadcast on 40072 and 40270. The thing is, I’ve also encountered macros that broadcast on those frequencies...so I definitely need to investigate a little more.
  3. Noticed something interesting as I opened up Field Test while driving through Seattle last night - there are 7 B41 carriers live throughout the city. I saw EARFCNS 40072, 40270, 40582, 40780, 40978, 41176 and 41374. Before I had only seen 40978, 41176 and 41374. More investigation is definitely needed...
  4. I think it was more of a “wow” face
  5. That is possible too. But if they do choose to keep a 1.4 MHz FDD LTE carrier, then they either must sacrifice the 1x800 carrier or cut the 10 MHz FDD LTE carrier down to 5 MHz FDD. I could see them deploying 10x10 L800 and a single 1x800 carrier and prioritizing their customers’ traffic over Sprint customers’ traffic...
  6. I wonder if there’s a chance Sprint will lease their 800 spectrum to SouthernLINC in exchange for a roaming agreement. If my memory serves me correctly, in SouthernLINC’s markets, SouthernLINC + Sprint’s 800 MHz holding are always 813.5-824 (uplink) and 858.5-869 (downlink). That’s 10.5 MHz FDD. Enough spectrum for a 10x10 L800 carrier and a 1x800 carrier...
  7. Maybe try uploading to imgur and linking them here. It’s free.
  8. I think everyone got the joke. It just wasn’t a very good joke. At least in my opinion.
  9. Intel modems will never fully catch up to Qualcomm modems because of a few technologies/patents that are exclusive to Qualcomm. In my opinion, it’s a shame that Apple isn’t exclusively using Qualcomm modems. Qualcomm’s modems outperform their Intel counterparts by about 15% at any given signal level, draw roughly 30% less power, and include a several technologies (which the Intel modems do not) that improve performance by using the assymmetrical paired antennas in the iPhone.
  10. Yes 4x2 is live on both low and mid bands for both providers. We’re seeing mostly 4x2 MIMO on T-Mobile’s 600 MHz towers that are coming up as well.
  11. Not exactly impossible. Verizon and T-Mobile both have widespread lowband 4x2 MIMO deployments in the Seattle area....
  12. Can you remind me why the 700 MHz E Block cannot be aggregated with non-700 lowband, Cellular or SMR for example?
  13. That could be interesting… Band 70, which was created for Dish, is: - Downlink: PCS H Block downlink + AWS-4 (1995-2020) - Uplink: AWS-3 (1695-1710) This is 25x15 MHz. It would be interesting if Band 70 could be used as a 20x15 LTE carrier (bandwidths greater than 20 MHz are not allowed) and the other 5 MHz of Band 70 downlink spectrum could be paired with the 5 MHz 700 E Block that Dish holds. If Sprint were to pick up the 700 MHz E Block I believe it could also be aggregated with the Band 26 for an effective 10x5 MHz pipe although I may be wrong…
  14. I know for a fact there is expansion happening that isn’t shown on that map so I’m unsure as to how accurate it is.
  15. If 40913 and 41309 are live, 41111 should also be live.
  16. Ah ok. So I’m guessing it’s not an issue if the guard band pours over the edge of Sprint’s licensed spectrum? Also does a guard band need to exist between the 1x and the LTE carrier?
