I encountered LTE for the first time in NYC and it doesn't want to hold the signal. Every other device in the store was on LTE except for the EVO. Not to mention I was able to see the tower right as I walked out of the store.

It is so smooth, awesome, and so much has changed.

Also the EVO on Sprints site is stated as having Jellybean onboard now.

As far as I know, it is live. Who mapped it by the way?

Shock: EVO LTE didn't make the list of top Sprint Smartphones 2012
Paynefanbro replied to kckid's topic in HTC
I think its because Sprint sort of dropped the phone in favor of the Galaxy S3. People love Samsun. Its like buying an iPhone without having to buy an iPhone. And HTC is so quick to release phones. The Galaxy S3 pretty much one up"ed" the EVO in every way. 4.7 vs 4.8 inch screen 2000mah battery vs 2100mah 1GB of RAM vs 2GB of RAM HoweverI did hear that the One X with JB is faster than the GS3 with JB. -
OMG, how about the most populated borough of the them all, Brooklyn!

Pictures of I've taken of NV sites

Recently I saw one of those FiOS Quantum vans by my home in Brooklyn. 300mbps speeds maybe? -
You never know. Maybe Sprint will accept a ton of these 3G sites as 4G sites all of sudden. And then you have widespread LTE all of a sudden. Many will be happy. Many will be sad because there isn't more expansive coverage.
-
On community.sprint.com they said that they are working on a fix. The thong is, they are probably going to release the fix with JB.

HTC has this thing about being good with every other update since the OG EVO.. Therefore, WHEN (not if) we get the 4.1 update, 4.2 will probably come very soon after. Samsung on the other hand is very good about keeping there promises and releases mor einfo about their updates, so you will know when, way before hand about an update.

I can't even determine what backhaul is here in NYC. I see Verizon laying down fiber non-stop throughout the city, but it is kind of hard to identify things when they are on the roof of 6-10 story apartment buildings. -
JUST GIVE ME THE UPDATE ALREADY! CAPS MEANS IM YELLING!!!

HTC EVO LTE is not the only phone where you have to toggle to get 4G
Paynefanbro replied to kckid's topic in HTC
This guy claims he was about to write a complaint article about how his EVO had horrible 3G service and he said suddenly the 4G icon popped up. In less than a second. WHAT?!?!?!?! http://www.pocketables.com/2012/11/sprint-4g-lte-appearing-in-some-areas-of-nashville-tn.html- 11 replies

Every time I hear someone complain about Sprint...
Paynefanbro replied to koiulpoi's topic in General Topics
Woah. I think I saw you on Google+! I commented multiple times on that thread and then saw a comment about being threatened and connected it to this post. +Bryce -
How do you know?
-
If they do, I hope they make some build quality improvements instead of just using plastic.
-
Oh. I see. That is sort of true. But its a good thing I live in NYC. A "tower" every 3 blocks.
-
I don't understand. Did I read this wrong?
-
It seems like it was at once, mostly the EVO's fault but now it is starting to seem more like a site density problem. Sure it has a problem connecting sometimes but other than that it seems like a lot of people's experience is getting better.
-
If 3G is done, what does it take to get 4G running?
-
Hows your 3G if your area has NV mostly complete?
Paynefanbro replied to DaQue's topic in General Topics
That may be, because the tower only has the 4G upgrade. They might have pulled what I like to call a "Verizon". They added LTE and kept on moving to expand that 4G footprint. -
I could see it happening, as I am sure many of the 3G sites are 4G ready as well, just not accepted by Sprint............. yet. On another note, Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me like you don't want Sprint to announce a launch of NYC this year. But I see where you are coming from. It is all in the benefit of Sprint. People will rant about not having LTE in New York, but you'd rather have dense LTE than, a couple of neighborhoods here and there having it and in the end people will be glad they waited.
