  1. New Yorkers aren't as mean as people put them out to be. We are just really straight forward and say what we mean.
  2. New York City hasn't been below 0 for a couple of years now. We still get a blizzard every so often though. We had one in 2011 during Winter Break.
  3. From the East side of Prospect Park to Kings County and SUNY Downstate there is LTE. You can check Sensorly.com for more
  4. Optimums fiber network is so robust that it is more than likely the go to backhaul provider for Long Island, Brooklyn, Staten Island, the Bronx, Southern Conneticut, and Northeast NJ. Just because they don't offer cable service there doesn't mean they dont have it.
  5. What MIMO does the EVO support?
  6. In NYC it is probably the major cable companies in many places. My understanding is that Optimum's network is fiber to the towers outside but they run a coaxial cable into your modem. I think the only places in Optimum service areas that aren't fiber are "last mike" folks that live on the edge of their service area.
  7. Hasnt Sprint been had HD voice for a while now? And the call quality has always been great in my opinion.
  8. The thing is, I believe T-Mobile has been actively deploying already in large cities, so I think they'll try to slap LTE on large cities first and make Sprint look stupid. I'd like to see what they advertise about their LTE above other carriers. They'll probably talk about speed because they definitely can't about coverage. But after we start getting Clearwire enabled phones, that'll end pretty quickly.
  9. Although Sprint's LTE network is growing faster than AT&T's, they still need to get to that darker shade of purple.
  10. Maybe its due to cell breathing. The way I understand cell breatingbis that when a tower gets overloaded, it'll shrink its coverage area slightly so that more people connect to another tower. It might be that, that tower is loaded and is pushing you off to the next and your phone is flip flopping.
  11. That means that your phone is switching between cell sites.
  12. Those are awesome speeds! Perfect example of how NV makes everything better!
  13. I could see a launch happening early to Mid-February but only for a the Bronx and possibky 1 other borough.
  14. They'll probably put a Clearwire type of tower inside the Barclays Center. Much like they did at Yankee Stadium with WiMax.
  15. Probably, but I am sure that as more towers come online, less people will be connected to each tower at a time so your speeds will progressively get a bit faster.
  16. I don't think that HTC wants to jump into phablet territory just yet. That part of the market has seen some growth, but I think that 4.7 to 5 inch screens are the sweet spot in that a man or a woman could easily pocket it even while wearing those dreaded skinny jeans.
  17. I was in East Meadow Long Island at WalMart and the speeds were insane. I don't think the towers were NV'd. I got a ping of 66 once. Most of the time it was between 70 and 100 ms. I almost got 2Mbps on my first speed test and the uploads were very close to 1mbps consistently. I wish all of the city was like this.
  18. I'd just like to point out that you no longer have to toggle to connect to LTE, the only problem there is now after JB, is that the phone does not hold really weak signals which could be seen as a benefit because my Dad's Note 2 ran 4G speedtest on a weak signal. The strong 3G outperformed his weak 4G.
  19. Horrible site density. The phone is catching the signal but often times it is super far away from the tower. Then you get the pale purple instead of deep purple.
  20. I feel like WiMax "failed" because when LTE came out it tripled the speeds of WiMax.
  21. Couldn't help but notice that the completion date for NV in the New York City Market moved from 2014 to December 2013.
