  1. You can use any size charger provided it outputs the correct voltage and has the minimum required amp output. Higher amp output will allow the device to charge faster if it is capable of drawing additional current.
  2. Sprint LTE performed well while the Crunch put the beat down on the Comets at the Frozen Dome Classic. 4 mbps down and 11 up on b41 with a record breaking 30k in attendance.
  3. I would try exchanging it for another Nexus 6. Every handset has manufacturer defects right out of the box, you happened to be one of the unlucky ones.
  4. I doubt you would be kicked off your old plan, I just think they might not offer subsidy options to new customers anymore. With easy pay and the lease option, there really isn't a reason to keep subsidies for new subs. If they are going to continue to offer discounts via easy pay like they currently have for the HTC M8 HK edition, there is no reason to keep the subsidy model going. Pay $80 a month plus the initial subsidized cost, or $60 plus $15 for a flagship phone that is only 6 months old? Seems like a no brainer to me.
  5. It seems like a good deal to me, I don't really see any downside if you like the lease option. If I was still on a legacy plan, I probably wouldn't use the lease option, but not because it's not a good deal. I tend to pass my phones down to parents, family, friends, or keep it as a back up etc so the lease option doesn't work for me.
  6. Band priority does not seem to matter, the network will move you to whatever it feels like putting you on after you initially scan and connect. Every time I do a profile update the phone gets put on global, and I change it back to LTE. I'm not sure if it really makes a difference, I don't personally notice any change between global and LTE.
  7. How many of that 350 million actually file a return? Besides, that $97 is basically a premier sponsorship for all the s4gru members, or a nice reimbursement for all the money we keep pouring into new handsets needing the latest and greatest.
  8. I have used chrome for the last year or so, and IE before that and never had any problems ordering anything.
  9. There is a work around. Advanced tech support can open a ticket to get it added to the system for activation. I had it happen to me when my livepro was replaced by zte under warranty, the replacement was not white listed. The process takes about a week, the trick is convincing them to do it for you. Whether or not they will do it for some one that bought a device from elsewhere is unknown, but it can be done.
  10. I don't get the thought process behind the quest to make these devices thinner and thinner, and this goes for pretty much every manufacturer. I would much rather have a slightly thicker/heavier phone/tablet if it allowed a larger battery and better durability.
  11. Yeah I am surprised how he missed like that. I just figured if we are going to have a thread dedicated to slamming Apple I would post it. Especially since its not the usual blender/hammer/bending crap that gets shown. Back on topic, my main problem with Apple product also happens to be what I like about their stuff. The closed ecosystem seems to allow all of their stuff to work together better, but it also prevents a lot of the customization I've come to love with Android. I also don't care for how much they mark up some of their products, especially computers.
  12. Seems like a good place to put this. Don't watch if you can't stand Apple gear getting destroyed.
  13. The only problem I would see having a thread dedicated to just Android would be how different each manufacturer implements/changes the OS with skins and "features", which IMO is my biggest beef with the Android ecosystem. After owning a Nexus, I don't think I could ever go back to anything else unless I manually install a pure Android rom.
  14. Does apple pay require a network connection to work? With Google wallet, once the app is unlocked you can still use tap and pay if you lose connection in the store. You just won't be notified in the app that the payment went through until you reconnect. I ask because some stores around here are rf black holes.
  15. After running 5.0 official, I definitely see an improvement in battery life over kit kat. I let it pick all the defaults for location, google now etc and I'm able to make it through an entire day with moderate use. Before, I would be running for the charger by the time I got home from work. I forgot how much of a battery hog Facebook was without greenify keeping it in check.
  16. I'm only getting b41 connections. It might be a coincidence but as soon as I leave b41 coverage I don't get LTE back.
  17. I'll need to verify later when I'm in range of b41, but the menu let me turn it off while the others stayed enabled.
  18. Band 25 can be disabled now with 5.0. I don't remember being able to do that on kit kat, makes finding b41/b26 easier. The radio band select menu also doesn't crash anymore with several options. USA band, Japan band, band mode 6 and band mode 7.
  19. I'm also getting a better LTE signal with the new radio. I never picked up LTE in my basement before except when I was running the preview radio, but I'm holding onto a very usable -112 signal after updating.
  20. The flash-all batch file didn't seem to work for me, it kept giving an error: update package missing system.img. First time I've had to manually flash a system image. Any idea what that error was or why it happened?
  21. I wouldn't count on Best Buy having any kind of deal on it. They sold the Sprint retail package Nexus 5 last year for $450.
  22. I get the same thing on my Nexus 5 after side loading the apk.
  23. That sucks, I have a friend in the same boat. They are currently trying to petition Time Warner to run cable to their home. TWC offered to do it, for the small fee of $22,000.
  24. Likely no one. Those phones probably won't be white listed in Sprints system. While it is possible to get a device added to the system, I doubt they would do it for buying the phone from T-Mobile.
