  1. I don't know enough about WiFi, but it wouldn't hand off when switching to different ones inside the store. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  2. That's kind of what I thought would happen. Its too bad, there are some stores here that seem like a RF black hole. One grocery store here has excellent WiFi inside, but its split among many different APs. When my family was here visiting Sprint WiFi calling would drop the call every time they moved to different parts of the store. It would be cool if they could get it to. work Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  3. You can still get subsidized upgrades, just not as often (24 months vs 20 months). They actually changed the upgrade term for subsidized devices last year. I doubt they would force you off the plan anytime soon, it is possible to activate a new line of service on it still. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  4. Do T-Mobile calls hand over to different WiFi access points? I know they can do WiFi to LTE, but haven't seen WiFi to WiFi mentioned. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  5. Google wallet wasn't available for most people to use until kit kat came out a little over a year ago now. Google had to change the way it worked because T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T actively blocked it in favor of their own mobile payment app Softcard (Isis). I forgot what it was, it had something to do with the secure element. Sprint was the only carrier here to embrace it. Google wallet was also a large factor in my decision to purchase the EVO LTE when it came out. I'm surprised more people don't use it, it has a lot more functionality overall than apple pay does at the moment. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  6. T-Mobile does not have WiFi calling on the nexus 5. Full integration with google voice prevents sprints HD calling from working, as you are essentially in a conference call with google. I've been using Google voice for a while, calls through hangouts dialer usually have better quality than regular sprint calls, but not as good as HD voice. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  7. Have him set the nexus 5 to 3G or 1X mode in network settings. Its the only way mine reliably works with my airave. Sprint's WiFi calling will likely never work on the nexus 5 unless they manage to bake it into aosp. The next best thing is google voice with the hangouts dialer for pseudo WiFi/data calling, but unfortunately Ting doesn't support full integration. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  8. Stock 5.0.1. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  9. It still works, *#*#3282#*#*, click LTE, click edit, enter MSL. Mine get reset every time I update my profile or reset the phone so I stopped bothering. It only effects the initial scan.
  10. Just ask for it, or swap the device online and it will give it to you.
  11. Is there a tl;dr version? I got through the first few paragraphs but it felt like reading a bad novel. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  12. Is it similar to the android version? A few updates ago I hated it, but its been growing on me. Ive been using it in my nexus and tab3. I keep 4.9.4 on my G2 and I'm about ready to replace it with the new one.
  13. You can get simultaneous voice and data via Google voice right now. Sprint is the only carrier that offers full integration with the service. There are a few drawbacks, but if you must have simultaneous voice and data on Sprint now, it is available. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  14. That's actually pretty terrible battery life, though if I could get that on lollipop I would be fine. This is what I would average in a week of light use, I mostly use the phone for basic stuff IE calls and texting while on 4.4.4. This was about 2 hours screen on time and 90 minutes of voice calls. I flashed back to 4.4.4 and I'm already back on track to hit this kind of battery life again.
  15. I flashed 5.0.1 multiple times trying to fix it. Going back to 4.4.4 I am back on track to hit 3-5 days on battery with my typical light use during the week. On lollipop the phone won't make it through the day.
  16. Yes, there is as far as I know. It was there in 5.0 and wasn't fixed in 5.0.1 Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  17. 12 minutes screen on time, I'm out of ideas. I don't want to go back to kit Kat, but at this point it seems like I have no choice.
  18. SVLTE and SVDO are available on some older Sprint handsets if you absolutely need it and don't want to or can't figure out how to use google voice and the hangouts dialer. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  19. Did you mean deploy a 3mhz LTE carrier, and another 1.4mhz LTE carrier? Or deploy 3mhz LTE and a 1.25mhz CDMA carrier? Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  20. The lag issue is a memory leak. Rebooting fixes it for a while. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  21. I would keep your plan and add a tablet on its own if you really want one.
  22. I'll be going back to 4.4.4 as well. I like lollipop, but battery life consistency is more important to me. Sent from my SM-T217S using Tapatalk
  23. It seemed to work for now, though it's still dropping more than it ever did on kit kat. Roughly 1% an hour, on kit kat I could manage 1-2% a day standby.
