    LG G3

Those of you looking for price breaks/deals: If purchasing from July 11 through July 24; $150 visa gift card If purchasing from July 25 through (argh...can't remember date); $100 gc Let's say you qualify for the $150. Knocks it down to $450. To put this in perspective, I just switched over to Framily (adding 5 new Sprint customers). One of those new people just bought a new S3 today for...wait for it....wait for it. $449.99. Argh! A two-year old, single-band device for the same price as I'm going to pay for the G3. Not even going to add in the multiple $75 gift cards for the new Framily recruits. I did my due diligence and made sure they were going to be covered by the network first.

    LG G3

Very much looking forward to putting my E4GLTE to bed for the G3. Hoping for solid dev support. I've downloaded towelroot in anticipation.

    LG G3

I know it's only one user, but this sounds promising. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53288882&postcount=225

    LG G3

/\/\/\ I'm interested in this as well. It appears that the G2's GPS issues may have (at least) been in part due to contacts on the back of the G2's cover not contacting properly. I am assuming here, but it would appear that since the G3's rear cover can be removed, then those GPS contacts would not be the same as the G2's. I'm hoping that's correct, but it's entire assumption and conjecture on my part.
  5. Dave, No worries, it's storming like a mother up here in Lee's Summit as well. Take care, Jeff

    LG G3

I suppose this will finally be the device that replaces my Evo4GLTE. It will be interesting to see if the GPS issues that have impacted the G2 will be remedied in the G3. I'm guessing LG had to move the GPS contacts since the G3 rear cover is removable. Does anyone know if the "Settings" menu and sub-menu colors can be changed? For example; instead of a dark font on white background, a white font on a dark background? Can't be sure the G3 would keep this feature with their UI overhaul, but you never know.

    LG G3

Am I reading this wrong or does this particular G3 support only band 25? If so, I'm guessing that a Sprint variant will make its way through the FCC. http://bit.ly/1jAsYSZ

    LG G3

We're only a little over a week away from being able to confirm, but wouldn't the G3 need the Snapdragon 805 with advanced GPU to run that QHD display? If that isn't the case, couldn't we be dealing with graphics processing shortcomings?

    LG G3

With no word on the release of the G Pro 2, this device looks like it will be FINALLY replacing my Evo4GLTE. I must have an extremely large screen. LG really must get on board with being developer friendly. Samsung seemingly has taken a step back from this with Knox. For the overwhelmingly large percentage of smartphone owners, android development doesn't make much of an impact. But for this fiscally conservative android enthusiast, development support is critical. Another concern/thought is that Sprint released the G2 in..October/November? Would a June/July release be too early for Sprint? I hope not, but something to consider.
  11. Dave, Wow, a 10 minute newscast. I guess we'll still call it a newscast and not a cut-in. But jeez, with 4 people that's very impressive! Yes, still having the issue with quoting. I'll try a different browser on the laptop at home. It could certainly be the browser we have to use @ work. As far as phones go... I'm considering the M8, but it's just not enough screen for me. It's looking like the G3 may have a 5.5", which would work. With each passing day, I'm thinking that the G Pro 2 will not be coming to Sprint. But time will tell.
  12. AJ... always appreciate your sense of humor, candor, and knowledge. David, that's cool about KRBK. I wasn't sure what was going to happen with a FOX affiliate in Springfield after KOLR (sold?/lost?) their affiliation. I was a director at KSPR many moons ago. When visitng the folks in Bolivar, I'll have to check out a newscast. As far as upgrading goes, I'm just biding my time with my LTEvo. It's pretty darn lousy at reception. I have an eye disease that took me out of the TV business and it's getting worse. I really need a HUGE (triband) device (*insert* joke here AJ) My hopes are that Sprint will carry the LG G Pro 2. If that doesn't happen, I suppose it will either be a G2/G3 or N5 (gotta get the huge screen though) Thought about waiting for the Note 4, but I'm not a fan of Samsung, TouchWiz, or Knox. Thanks again for sharing. I'll keep on Sprint about their tower issues near WDAF. A phone that can't be used by the Mrs. at work (she's a producer) gives me grief. Kind regards, Jeff Skidmore ps... does anyone know why I cannot quote a post? Anytime I try to quote, I only get the "reply" box served up.
  13. David, I don't really know why I post in specific threads. It seems as if every time I have a question, it is you who answers. I thank you again kind sir. After calling CS and following up with tweets yesterday, a response from @sprintcare confirmed an issue at the tower(s). They suggested giving them 24-72 hours to follow up on the issue. I tweeted back saying that I would follow up either way Friday or Monday. My wife works at a TV station at SW Tfwy & 31st and I'm sure it's a tower issue since her Signal Check numbers check out fine here (and she used to get solid connectivity up to a few weeks ago) but now are completely in the crapper at work. off topic... Do you work for a station in Springfield? If so, which one? I used to work TV in Springfield. Thanks again for the help David.
  14. Anyone experiencing issues around Southwest Trafficway & 31st Street in KCMO? I have no idea where the tower(s) are located in that area. My wife's Note2 is churning through battery at an unbelievable rate the past 2-3 weeks. Her 1xRTT readings yesterday were anywhere between -95dBm - -105dBm, with no evdo, ehrpd, or lte connection. Prior to the last 2-3 weeks, she connected without issue to lte. No issues when connecting to our home tower. Updated PRL & Profile multiple times over the past few weeks. I reported the issue to @sprintcare on Twitter. Thanks, Skid
  15. Can a user confirm whether or not the font color and background color in the settings menu can be changed? Newboyx said that this should be able to be accomplished by changing the theme. My eyes can't take the dark-ish font on white background. Thank you!

    LG G Pro 2

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm a little hesitant on a couple of things: 1. LG's history with updating their devices. (although this seems to be improving) 2. GPS issues evident with some G2 owners, and a review listed this as an issue as well. 3. (Sprint) Developer support. I have followed @LGUSAMobile and have tweeted them everyday the past 10 days or so saying that I'm ready for a Sprint LGGPro2. #LGGPro2Ready
  17. I'll give this another shot... Is the "Settings" menu on the M8 (or M7) white font on black/dark background? Or is it the standard black/gray font on a white background? Thanks for the info.
  18. Weird question I know but... Is the "Settings" menu on the M8 (or M7) white font on black/dark background? Or is it the standard black/gray font on a white background? Thanks for the info.

Asia release within days. Still no word on U.S. availability/price. Anxiously waiting.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

Along with the weather issue I described on the previous page, yes, I was having voicemail issues as well. The weather issue was fixed by re-provisioning data on the Evo. Sorry, I can't remember the exact steps I took. It involved using ##72786#. To fix the voicemail issue I had to use ##3282#, change the data value to "1" instead of "0", then commit those changes. Everything data has been working flawlessly since. Keep in mind that I did not run the RUU. Skid
  21. My wife and I enjoy great coverage in the eastern Kansas City suburbs. My mom lives about 30 miles north of Springfield. She currently uses the HTC Evo4GLTE and I'm stunned she gets 3G as well as she does. Anyway... we're considering switching from our ED1500 plan to the Framily. I've discussed the subsidy consideration of the Framily plan with mom and suggested a Nexus 5 should cover her (small) data needs. She is on board with this. Would it be safe to expect that her data speeds would at least not drop any further with the Nexus 5? I'm certain she would'nt get LTE in Bolivar, (you should see her face light up when she visits up here and sees 4G on her Evo) but would the N5 be a solid performer even in this rural area? Thank you

    LG G Pro 2

http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/04/lg-g-pro-2-review/ Brad from Engadget posted his review of the Korean version. Still no word on U.S. carrier support. Removable battery and SD card support is great. Reading the G2 thread, it seems as if the G Pro 2 has some comparable bugs. #1 Spotty RF reception #2 Navigation/compass issues These two things are somewhat worrisome considering LG's history of updating devices. I'm chomping at the bit to get this beauty in Sprint tri-band flavor, but will probably have a wait and see attitude. I'm looking for a solid/very good RF performer. And although navigation isn't something I use daily, I do use it often and it is important. Looking forward to a post on The Wall from AJ or Josh in the future when it (hopefully) hits the OET.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I've installed 4.3 and having an issue. I've got the clock/weather widget on my main homescreen. While at work it updates (weather) at the specified intervals. However at home connected to either WiFi or LTE it doesn't update. I tap the weather side of the widget, even then it doesn't update on it's own. After manually updating... even then after a couple of minutes, it's back to showing nothing on the widget again. Is this a tower issue of some sort?
  24. If this kind of post is frowned upon, please delete. I've been a Sprint user for over 10 years. My wife and I live in KC and our Sprint coverage is excellent. We have no plans on leaving. My mom is also on our current ED1500 plan and she will be making the move to a (non-subsidized) Nexus 5 when we start our Framily. We are currently at three, and have a solid 4th member waiting to join. However I would like to wait until we get to 7 before creating the Framily. If you are interested in joining a "cough...mature" Framily please pm. Not trying to solicit or sell anything, just looking to leave the subsidized arena and would like to lock in the lowest rate as soon as we start our Framily. Sincere thanks, Jeff
