  1. I am from MN... blizzard of '91... Remember it well...
  2. One thing I hate about the internet is the lack of sarcasm detection (my fault).. of course the S4 is great... The joke was that because the GN3 didn't have tri-band -- myself and every other member of S4GRU lost (cause they can't have a tri-band GN3) -- but that because of me not getting a Note 3 -- my wife is now going to get an iPhone (since she missed hers when she went to the S4) and that I would be "stuck" with her S4 until next year...
  3. I would rather have a tri-band phone than be right. Either way, I was just playing.
  4. That area has to be rolling any time now... Rock Hill is in the Charlotte market I thought... if so, they do not have much left to do there for the first round... if it is in the SC market, that market (well this market since we are in that thread) is rocking and rolling right now...
  5. I understand it as this: all sites at some time get "officially" marked as done -- and Robert gets that list -- and it makes it on the map. Can be on the map but not yet "live" or can be "live" but not yet "complete" (on list).
  6. then that means it has not been reported as 3G or 4G or 800 updated yet. Am I still missing the point? If they are not on the master list that shows all sites -- then it is a new site (but that is very very rare)....
  7. He is the owner of this site. He does this for fun, not for you or me or money. What do you mean by "so many sites are missing"? He updates the maps in the sponsor section several times a week -- and posts a summary of that in the markets section when he does so. There might be some live LTE sites around you that he doesn't know about yet or has a list that he hasn't posted yet... Or there might be some accepted sites on the map that haven't gone live yet, but what it really comes down to is his map gives you a good idea of where there is LTE or 800 etc -- but is by no means a definitive guide.
  8. No... we all lose. Except my wife. She wins (and gets an iPhone while I get her old crappy S4).... lol
  9. Are you really complaining about the map being only 3 days "out of date"? Really? If you haven't read it yet, Robert is just a touch busy -- but even if he wasn't -- 3 days? I would LOVE to call Sprint and ask them to deactivate your LTE so that it is "accurate" on the map for you. If I mis-read your post please disregard. Long day, including BS customer complaints.
  10. it'll be weeks or months, not years... They do the 3G/voice thing in huge clusters. They did western Charlotte several weeks ago and it was massive chunks at once. Patience.
  11. Oh come on, everyone gets along in regards with politics! There couldn't any harm on speaking out about that, right? I think we can all agree on politics /no, don't go there.
  12. Once you get in your garage don't you switch from the weak LTE signal onto your strong and super fast and uncongested WIFI signal?
  13. You can't -- approval for this phone is now hung up at the FCC.
  14. Today was a horrible day all across the Grand Strand (I blamed it on (a) Sensorly and ( my EVO -- but now I can apologize to that app and my phone, cause I was bouncing between roaming on Verizon -- 1xrtt -- 3G -- and only picked up 4G for a brief moment at our one 4G site near Socastee today... picked a frustrating day to try and search for new 4G that is for sure!
  15. FYI, there is a solid line of LTE going down i95 in this market that appears to be bogus... I took my time from just south of Florence all the way through into GA this afternoon and the only places I got LTE was the two expected spots (Yemmesse and Hardeeville) -- I DID get a really nice speedtest in Hardeeville (23mbps down/7mpbs up)... things were really all the way.. often roaming on Verizon -- lots of 1X data... phone getting hot trying hold signals... I hope this is a sign of repairs in progress...
  16. Yeah, uhhh, after some inspection -- I am going to go with bogus data. From near Florence south into GA I only got 4G in two places -- Yemmesse and Hardeeville (exactly where it is expected to be).. I DID have a LOT of problems holding signals though (lots of roaming on Verizon RIGHT on I95 -- and when I shut off roaming I often showed NO signal).. so I hope that is a sign they ARE working fast on things alone the freeway (and who knows maybe that Sensorly data came on a day when they turned on all the LTEs for a day)... I know this belongs more in the GA/SC coast thread but it was brought up here...
  17. Today's acceptance report does not reflect anything along this solid stretch of mapping down 77 and 26 and 95... I am thinking it is a mapping error on Sensorly... Unless they were testing the entire stretch or something...
  18. Going down I95 that almost looks too good to be true, no? I will be down much of that Wednesday so I will see for myself, but there is some large spaces between sites out there and that line does not break even once... Very suspicious...
  19. That is what has been in the back of my head. Would be my luck, as we are pretty set now on the wife getting an iPhone and me getting her S4 lol... Probably not the case though.
  20. Only problem with that is ... I can't imagine why the bands would be "in" the phone but not "activated". When this phone was submitted to the FCC it was well after all three bands were in place (if the band 41 had JUST been approved this week but the phone was submitted last month, then I could see the enabling of a band)...
  21. Careful with the term "ever" -- as the 2600 band will be placed on ALL sites in the next few years... so even someone rural like myself will be able to take advance of it at some point. Otherwise, yeah --- the disappointment is pretty widespread, I think.
  22. They do seem to have left ya'll behind in Rock Hill. Working all around you. I can not imagine it being much longer. I believe you have some in progress sites out that way, too...
  23. I saw that yesterday -- also saw a few threads involving those same characters on the sprint message boards as well. To have someone claiming to have inside knowledge that the Note 3 will indeed end up tri-band is intriguing and something to keep an eye on, but I still have my doubts... The point of the 500 being pushed through the FCC only to then have the 520 push through WITH tri-band is also something to hold up hope for. We will see.
