  1. Any sign of the 2600 LTE yet on it in Charlotte? Keep an eye out and report back if you see it....
  2. This. When my Nexus 4 finally got the OTA two days ago, I was so excited (if I wasn't busy I would have installed it manually sooner)... But once it was installed I quickly realized nothing had really changed.....
  3. I was dying to know if that tower was active, good to know! Thanks! I was actually thinking of running up there... LTE: next stop, Myrtle Beach! I wonder if that one in Cola SC is active yet (different thread)...
  4. Glad the worse missed you. Makes me flash back to camping in a tent on a large lake my grandparents lived on in northern MN... A nasty storm was coming and my dad and I decided to boat a few miles to their house (we were on an island). When we got back after the storm, the tent was blown over... But the burn mark on the pole in the middle of the tent showed the real danger...
  5. Two year old... "Traina"!! That is all. /Chuggington, chugga chugga chugga!
  6. Aerial ---> Airtouch ---> Cingular ---> Suncom ---> Nextel and Suncom ---> Sprint and Suncom ---> Sprint (2) ---> Sprint and T-Mobile Prepaid ---> Sprint and Simple Mobile ---> Sprint and Straight Talk ---> Sprint and Net10

  7. I am with you on that, no argument on my part.. Thanks to your post you got me thinking about my Motorola history... My first phone was a MicroTAC 6000e (just found it and took a pic, which is now my pic on the left)... my next and last Moto was the Moto Q (with a bunch of phones in between)... Then I entered the world of HTC with a the Touch Pro, Touch Pro2, EVO, EVO3D, and EVOLTE (among other phones in between including my Nexus and a few iPhones)... I will probably be on the Note3 this fall though...
  8. The thing about "never touching Moto again" is that they are now part of Google.. The new Moto X really seems to be a new version of my Nexus 4 -- It appears it would be a phone that will be updated faster than pretty much anything out there (other THAN the Nexus phones)... I remember waiting for updates that never came way back on my Moto Q WM phone though...
  9. It is crazy that we are the one place that T-Mobile has 850 coverage. What sucks is being in the country this means that Verizon is the only 850 carrier I have out here that has 3G/4G since T-Mobile is 2G the moment you cross over the ICW (even Little River SC is only 2G for T-Mobile!!!)... Both Sprint and AT&T are 1900 out here and the signal is horrible inside. I can't wait for Sprint to take my GMOs and get 800 on them!
  10. I have a stupid crappy HTC EVO LTE... so when I got to Exit 8... nothing but weak 3G... so I got back on the freeway... I got nothing as I exited onto Exit 5 (Hardeeville SC). But at the top of the Exit I got full bars and 4G... I am not too big on speed test -- but I did run one... Got 19.82down and 4.52up... Kept it solid for a whole two or three miles heading south on I95 (had sensorly running so I helped darken the line on there)... then it went away... Only 2 to 3 miles from the tower and I lost the signal? This EVOLTE is horrible! EDIT: Looking at Sensorly, I see someone mapped out Brunswick, GA... good to see it live (but wont see it in person as I do not travel that far south for work)...
  11. Some pushback I am sure... But most are clueless. An unnamed family member is paying for a full Verizon family plan... And is paying for a line with no phone on it so they could get a new phone when they were not eligible for an upgrade... No sense of value or thrift.
  12. Tower actually means site. Panel actually equals antenna. Well understood and common misuse. So just get over it. ) (it does seem odd referring to cell sites that are on water towers, buildings, etc. as a tower though)...
  13. And compete I hope they do. Roaming is getting more dicey (100mb on new plan limit), small carriers we roam on now are being swallowed up by the big boys. To compete with their new plans as they now have them set up they better start expanding their coverage into the many rural areas that VZW and ATT already are -- and fast (should be 'easy' with all the freed up 800)...
  14. There is no evidence at this time that anyone is being forced from any existing plans.
  15. Damn you AT&T.... There hasn't been very much consumer-friendly news in wireless lately.
  16. Ha! You have an awesome video come-back for everything! This one pertained to both telephone service AND hell on earth... (with the added big nightmare of course).
  17. Wow... The old plans are already gone from sprint.com! I saw it above, but didn't believe it until I saw it myself. It is now $310/mo for five smartphones....
  18. Only thing that has me thinking -- is ATT *STILL* offers the "older" style plans in addition to their mobile share... so I am going to presume at this time that Sprint will market both plans in conjunction with each other for the foreseeable future. When that changes, it will be a whole 'nother story...
  19. This is true. In fact the most clear way of looking at this is this offers the unlimited talk option to family plans at an affordable price for the first time to Sprint customers.
  20. Exactly my opinion. If they keep the current plans in place -- I am okay in them for now. But if they force migrate to these, or they stop allowing upgrades on the current ones (much like they did with the older plans several years back), OR if they start throttling "older" plans... I am gone.
  21. I just read pages 5 thru 7 and spot checked the first 4 pages -- and I didn't see anything that was too ranting. I personally showed some displeasure toward them (I was waiting patiently for a new unlimited talk/text share plan such as Verizon and ATT and this totally took my wind out of my sails) -- and others have done the same. But when a company releases (or leaks) what is IMHO terrible news -- how on a forum that is ABOUT that company can you not have some negativity (and even some ranting, really)...
  22. I just spot checked this sheet and this is horrible. It would raise my bill up around $100, which is more expensive than ANY of the other three carriers. Making me re-think Sprint.... I will spend more time looking at this when I can -- but limited to 100mb roaming data and $310/month plus taxes and fees for my five lines? No way.
  23. Thank you! That is so neat! I have always been obsessed with "hidden" cell towers since my first time seeing a "tree" in Vegas (and that was before S4GRU came around)... All we have around here are the flag poles and the standard towers (including free standing, water tower add ons, etc)...
  24. Hardest job of the day was keep from laughing and waking up the wife next to me!! Funny stuff...
