  1. Thanks for the update. Not a sponsor yet, so I am curious if any of these towers are in myrtle beach proper or surfside. Recently I have had horrible service in a few areas that recently have been smoking fast. I am curious if it is NV or lack of tourists. If it is the NV, I am excited. Unrelated, but I am in Downtown Vegas this week and Sprint has been 99% unusable (except one time when I woke up around 5am)...
  2. THere are only two WiMax towers near Conway and Surfside (protection sites) from what I understand. This thread totally makes my night as the OP stated, Sprint service in and around Myrtle Beach has become mostly useless... I totally look forward to any updates to this. Why would they only be doing 3G parts of NV, why not the "normal" suite of 3G and 4G stuff? That part confuses me.
  3. I see the probable signal is on that sensory map so I guess my news wasn't really new -- I suppose it didn't hurt to post though... As far as my signal it seems weak AND slow to me at times... but many times, I can get it up against my wife's iPhone and it seems to be similar.. My opinion is this: either my phone is getting weak signals or Sprint is lacking in strong coverage around this part of Charlotte and much of Myrtle Beach. I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago and had nearly full bars and most of the time FAST 4G -- it was amazing -- made me have hope for the future...
  4. I dug deep and saw no Myrtle Beach market post -- so figured I would start one -- delete if this is not proper. Any word on the status of a late market such as mine? I have seen things about being behind a quarter -- how will that influence our market here? 3G is almost unusable in about half my area so I am anxious and desperate... Thanks!
  5. Just an FYI, as I live in Myrtle Beach and dream of one day getting LTE (before giving up on Sprint, which I am close -- ONLY thing keeping me on board is ETFs and this board -- the geek in me)... Anyways, I am working in the Gastonia NC area this week for work and I got an LTE signal on my EVO LTE at the intersection of I-85 and I think it is US321 that goes up to Lincolnton, NC???? I tried to mess with it (speed test) but was following someone going 70 mph in my company truck -- so I couldn't do much (and it was acting up and then switched to 3G).... Otherwise, in Belmont I am getting nothing -- in and out of Charlotte a few times I didn't see much either. My signal in general has been very weak everywhere (making me start to think my phone has a reception issue??)....
  6. Thanks for this awesome explanation -- I have never seen it written more clearly.. the G block really is an add on to the previous blocks -- and the up and down channel are seperate "sections of the wavelengths.. cool!!! Verizon's LTE for sure will not work with your repeaters -- because that is in the 700mHz range... you still have hope for your Sprint LTE -- it just depends if they repeaters are very specific on the frequency range -- or if they take up a whole swatch of the 1900 and 850 ranges -- of if they are very specific to certain known frequencies... (I would venture to guess they will work with the new G blocK, but I am not in any way an expert, in fact I know pretty much what I have learned on here and other boards over the years only)...
  7. I am going to come out of hiding on this thread to ask the question I have been looking for an answer to for awhile now. It is not about what the RDU area is called though lol... I am in the Myrtle Beach area and now have an EVO 4G LTE phone. I waited forever for us to get Wimax and we never did now I am waiting for LTE. Best I can tell we are not in the first two "rounds"... so when WILL we get coverage? I know no one knows for sure, but what about? I am a phone geek and hate running on the horrible 3G we have here, my iPhone (on Edge 2G with Simple Mobile) actually does better many times, which is sad... Makes my unlimited data seem rather limited. BUT I have been patent and will be for awhile longer...
