  1. Well, the Mega has just been found out to be a tri-band and it is an S400
  2. http://www.gadgetreview.com/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-mega-6-3-review-att Here is a review on the ATT version..probably the same phone overall... Specs are so-so on this phone.. probably enough to do anything I would do... But so big (and no s-pen I think)... I will have to decide for myself to be "stuck" with this for two years -- or let my wife go back to the iPhone and get her G4... for a year.. then I can get the Note 4 next fall with all the snapdragon 10,000 chips and stuff.... Something to sleep on a few nights.
  3. WOW... the mid-range Mega is tri-band??!!?!? what to do what to do... thanks AJ for this great article!
  4. I understand that. I was more curious of what kind of performance the FCC reports showed on those bands...
  5. Obviously everything is speculation... but I feel that the "we started on the Note 3 well before the tri-band thing had wings" is the most obvious reasoning. The whole iPhones need to sell more thing is intriguing (but kinda conspiracy theory-ish). This is plausible, but if it IS the reason -- shame on both Samsung and Sprint (for allowing it)... If they had the means to make the phone tri-band but didn't because they had "old parts laying around".. that would just be wrong.
  6. Due to the Note3 fiasco -- I am probably getting my wife's S4 -- and she is going to get the new iPhone 5S. I know that the S4 is a beast for RF stuff from what I have read (and seen on her phone).. but how does the FCC reports show the 5S being? Will she be happy on it for CDMA and/or LTE 800 and/or 1900? We are rural out here so she will not need the capacity of BRS spectrum.. Thanks.
  7. I can't believe I just read this. Because of the GN3 fiasco -- I brought up to my wife today that I would take her Samsung Galaxy S4 **if** she wanted to go back to the iOS side of things -- and she said yes! she said she was kinda missing iOS (but only recently) but was afraid to say something (since we had just dropped the money on the S4)... SO... due to the new iPhone being dual-band (which was the bad thing last week lol) and the note being single band -- Samsung has probably lost a sale and Apple gained one (with me now looking to next fall at a Note 4 or similar). Funny how things work.
  8. ...so just get it done as fast as possible (device OR network).
  9. If they would have just released 25 models of tri-band phones and updated 39,000 sites with all the bands last week this wouldn't be an issue! (Thinking harder about it -- what *IS* better to have first the device or the network??? chicken or egg)... This will be my last post on the issue -- but you really got me thinking about what is the better way to 'have it'...
  10. Sorry. Just some frustration on my part; it fits in the GN3 thread -- but is narrow focused. I DO look forward to what is to come (both network and device side). I will move on.
  11. I am not premier (yet and not for awhile yet).. but even that brief summary confuses me. How can they have all of Denver practically lit up (from Robert's trip) and all those cities as well -- cities where LTE (anything other than 2600) is nearly non-existent.. and yet still "allow" Apple, Samsung or ANYONE to release a phone ... a TOP of the line phone.... that can't use it!!! Totally confused and frustrated by Sprint (cause in the end it is their fault and their mess)...
  12. Me too.. I have the same defeated feeling I had when my Vikings lost this weekend.. kind of a "what now"...
  13. If the tech blogs (and that is really all Engadget is) are that "stupid" makes you scared for the rest of the population...
  14. That don't make sense... The "P" totally does because the bands match that of the S4 (and many others)..
  15. You are like a lost puppy bouncing between the threads right now lol... I am with ya.. 5.5" plus, tri-band, SD card... that is my requirements... Removable battery is optional for me though. Still have a tiny bit of hope for the GN3 -- but this is my next hope.
  16. I still thought that triband was in the bag.. Now not so sure.. I guess I will hold out now for the HTC one max... The rumor of it being an exclusive gives more hope (but I also require an SD card so there is that)...
  17. the S might not, if it does not exist.. But yeah, I am not gonna worry about it until something official comes out..
  18. No, P is for pitiful... Single band pitiful.
  19. If this P one is NOT sprint, what else could it be?
  20. I hope you are wrong. If this is the sprint version.. I guess I will have to hold my breath for the htcone..
  21. That would be great... And I figured it would end in an S anyways... Still very curious on this "P" model... I am trying to figure out if the 2nd band in the 800's listed in SMR or not... EDIT: I do not see the "lower" 800 stuff on the CDMA page -- only on the summary page -- so I guess that would make it definately not a Sprint phone... (total guesses as this stuff is Greek to me)...
