  1. There is no difference between the Nexus 5 sold through Sprint or Google, most of us here purchased off the Play Store.
  2. Don't want to sound like an ass, but you should probably read through the thread, its been repeated over and over again. You need the update in order for it to work properly, it entails more than just enabling bands. This threads MO
  3. Yes, this would effectively double capacity. two 5x5 carriers.
  4. Samsung Galaxy Mini, Galaxy Mega, (also new version of Galaxy S4, not sure if its out yet) HTC One Max. LG G2 will receive the update this month and hopefully the Nexus 5 soon after.
  5. Not only do they work, but if you have any sort of decent signal, they will transmit extremely fast.
  6. Did you mean band 25? or 26? because if your talking about 26, that would be pretty awesome!
  7. Read other posts on this thread, but the bottom line is, yes of course our phone is "spark" capable (Tri-band) And the fact that people are able to connect to it is by sheer luck more than anything else, and most report not staying connected very long. Unlike other official "spark" devices, those have no issues with connectivity. But just in case you do want to know what band you are connected to, here's an app that can help you with that, http://tinyurl.com/k2n8o34 (you will need Root access for this app to modify your band priority)
  8. These are all good points, I would like to add that a Band 41 site might also help alleviate the situation with a stronger signal, another stop gad solution you can try is a location aware app that can switch modes depending on location (like Tasker). As hacky as it sounds, it might work until a proper fix is available.
  9. Alot of exciting stuff happening now in Texas for Sprint, I would not even consider switching to any other carrier, now about your issues, it could be a switching issue so obviously software can remedy this. One other thing, if you have google voice integration enabled, that can cause delays in the incoming (due to the fact that its being re-routed through them) so if you do have that enabled you might want to try temporary disabling it and do some testing.
  10. I thought I had it figured out at one point, noticed almost all reports of band 41 access on the G2 and Nexus 5 came from the west coast. So I assumed it was something that ALU markets did differently to block access to this device. But as theforce167 has pointed out, he was successful connecting from this side of the fence. So its inconsistency has made it difficult to pinpoint exactly what allows it to connect and not.
  11. Not that simple, a buddy of mine has an HTC One max, and he can connect without any issues.
  12. I'm almost entirely surrounded by B41 and have NEVER once for a second connected to B41 on Nexus 5.
  13. Tell that to those that live at the fringe of signal, no matter what carrier. My point exactly...
  14. No one in Alu market have picked up B41 with a N5, as far as I know, and to be honest, 3G signal strength has not been an issue for a very long time. Having persistent LTE is the current defacto requirement. Especially considering 1900's limited coverage range.
  15. Your signal was extremely low, but since the site was unburdened you got decent speeds. About signal strength, when your on a voice call, it will switch the bars to voice signal, otherwise it will show your data.
  16. One dead giveaway is that your speed went over what the 5x5 spectrum allows (which is 37mb sec) Also, you have a spark enabled phone. If your on the HTC One Max, try opening the dialer then and dial ##DEBUG# then Select LTE Engineering. You will see "band" B25 is your typical LTE band (1900) B26 (800) B41 (Spark 2500/2600)
  17. I will take a screen shot when its on. I have connected to it a few times.
  18. It looks like your connected to Band 41, with turbo backhaul, considering you only had 1 bar of service and nearly picked up 40mb sec. Good to see Spark sites outside of the big cities!
  19. HD voice is active in NYC, I have randomly picked it up around the city, the difference is quite a surprise.
  20. None of those specs on the LG G2 make it a superior phone, battery life has gotten extremely good on my N5, while the G2's will battery will probably not improve much because of bloatware, and the camera quality has also improved (and will continue to with google's updates) and the utmost important thing to most S4GRU members, radio performance! LG G2 is a very average performer in that department. Subsequently people don't realize that google is subsidizing the hardware through their own OS, whereas other HW manufacturers cannot do this. Hence the unbelievable price! But, to each their own, the G2 does happen to temporarily be able to pick up Band 41 where as the N5 can not, so there's that.
  21. I occasionally connect to HD voice calls on my nexus 5, its pretty spectacular.
  22. I'm near grand concourse and tremont, I can make calls without issues, 1x800 as usual.
