  1. Ookla doesn't recognize CA on all its servers, so there's a possibly that's the problem.
  2. Yes, but LTE roaming with Sprint or T-Mobile? Obviously I would like Sprint to strike a LTE deal with USCC.
  3. This really isn't a bash Sprint piece. It's a hit piece on Wheeler and the FCC, right out of the mouth of corporations. They just use the Sprint case as an example to go after the FCC.
  4. Vox Media is significantly more than The Verge. The main website itself is definitely on the liberal side of the spectrum and their motto of "explain the news" should pretty much sum things up for them.
  5. Basically when Vox bought re/code a few months ago, they decided to send the Verge in a more editorial/cultural direction and re/code as the tech reporting site.
  6. This would kill any reason to buy an unlimited data plan, in fact smart people would buy the cheapest data plan available if this truly meant fully exempted music and video streaming.
  7. I should note that Blu is based in Florida. So they are a rare domestic phone manufacturer.
  8. I can see it but in the non Fios areas Verizon is tied up with Centurylink as a package deal (my friend gets a decent discount from his package deal with Centurylink). The other note is Verizon has already gone down this road with Comcast when they bought out spectrum from the cable companies. They scuttled it then when they decided it wasn't working out for them. Not sure what would change now.
  9. The 5 pin structure of micro USB is what holds back the charging rate versus the 24 pins of USB C. I'm not sure what improvements quick charge 3.0 will bring.
  10. Con Agra had one valid reason for moving to Chicago, most of their sub-brands where headquartered in Chicago already. It was a sensible business decision that they needed to consolidate all their brands into one HQ and consolidate management teams. How they went about justifying the move (need to get young and hip talent) was a bad PR move and utter B.S.
  11. That's a scary small battery. Especially since it lacks the super quick charge of USB type C.
  12. It's still a brutal loss for Omaha, especially considering what they have given up to make Con Agra happy there. I know a lot of people there who work for Con Agra.
  13. I should say never mind on the B41 issues. I found some in Kansas, Sprint was just in error by saying there was Spark in North Texas, lol.
  14. Has anybody else seen their Band 41 reception completely nerfed? I can't pick up any B41 at all.
  15. I'm surprised Dish agreed to this, they complied with the rules as they where written at the time (abeit not the spirit of the law). The FCC changed the rules after the auction. Would a court side with Dish?
  16. It can support sprint, but that does not mean they'll whitelist it to allow it to be byod on their plans. Think of last year's moto X. Now I don't see why Sprint wouldn't allow it, but always a possibility.
  17. The biggest issue for me is the fragmenting of the messaging ecosystem. Facebook, WhatsApp, Kik, Snapchat, etc, I have them all on my phone to keep in touch with people. So all of them running in the background with a couple of chrome tabs (hardly a RAM efficient browser) eats up all my RAM. I would love one messaging app to cover them all, but it hasn't happened.
  18. I have 6 messaging apps that all run in the background, thanks to a fragmented ecosystem (not counting SMS). That alone consumes a lot of RAM. Add in a couple tabs on chrome and all that RAM is needed.
  19. Plus Qualcomm has been constantly mentioning how release 2 of the 810 is significantly better, the phone will probably have release 2 so hopefully a big improvement.
  20. Ntelos (now Shentel) had some coverage in those areas you're mentioning.
  21. Back at post 139. We'll see how it plays out in the wild.
  22. Then it sounds like the radio on this phone isn't as good, which AJ pointed out in the testing numbers.
  23. I should note that in their FAQ Sprint is now saying that all roaming partners will be noted by roaming icons, so it's possible we'll have a harder time seeing where we are fully native (unlike the 3G native appearance of the past).
