In my opinion the new installations would be gross overkill for the street light controllers. But that's my opinion and it's not close to even being worth 2 cents. On a related note, it's kind of sad to see the old series wired street lights go away. A lot of that was circa 1940s infrastructure. Obviously the LEDs are superior in almost every way, but it was like a living museum of electrical history.

That should make our Ocala friends happy! And apologies, I was was referring to my incomplete statement not anything you said.

Should have specified to whom.

Looks like Upper C5 and part of A5 got traded in Ocala.

Do you happen to know if Crown Castle owns the site, or the City of Los Angeles? There was a vault for the site that was marked "Crown Castle".

This is my first time seeing this type of street light stealth site. It's a Crown Castle site near the Staples center in Downtown Los Angeles. It's different from the Verizon small cell sites in the city, and also different from the MetroPCS small cells that were deployed several years ago. There's an AT&T site on the other side of the block. I wasn't able to pick up any Sprint related signals from it. Any idea what carrier(s) might be using it? Here's some background on what Crown Castle is doing in the area: http://www.crowncastle.com/Projects_Case-Study_PDFs/LosAngeles.pdf

It looks like the AT&T logo has been upgraded from Deathstar to Star Killer Base.

The picture may be misleading, but that looks like a very rural location for a B41 small cell. Is there a variation of this setup that would use B41 as wireless backhaul, but the relay would be B25/B26?

Sprint Super Bowl Coverage/DAS

Glad to see they have the other event venues covered as well. -
This is my first time seeing this configuration in the LA Metro market: Underground equipment vault + pole mounted RRU + omnidirectional antennas. (Most pole installations seem to be GMO.) This happens to be a site that's not on the NV map. I'll post more info in the Sponsor section when I get a chance.

Can someone recommend a good series to watch on Netflix?
bigmachine replied to leozno1's topic in General Topics
For those of you who want your TV to "learn you something", I suggest these docs and shows: Cosmos Nature (The PBS series) especially "Honey Badgers: Masters of Mayhem" Particle Fever Nova Frontline And how is Arrested Development not on the list so far? -
Can someone recommend a good series to watch on Netflix?

I was going to make some suggestions but for some reason Netflix thinks I'd enjoy "Fireplace For Your Home". I think this disqualifies me from making any recommendations. -
This seemed to work for me: Repeat these steps twice. 1. Enter Field Test mode. 2. Hold down the power button until you get the shutdown screen. 3. Hit exit. I had to this twice before it worked.

Thanks! You're right it does. It's just not as nice as the implementation in Android.

Just picked up a 6s. I have only one complaint: scrolling in Safari is SLOW! I know about tapping the bar to skip to the top, but that's only a partial solution. Anyone know of a solution to this?

These are also rumored partners for the small cell buildout: http://www.mobilitie.com http://www.airspan.com/products/ http://networks.nokia.com/portfolio/products/small-cells Rumor sources: http://www.rcrwireless.com/20150820/network-infrastructure/sprint-confirms-network-upgrade-plans-tag4 http://www.rcrwireless.com/20150723/carriers/sprint-pay-for-70000-small-cells-tag17 -
In the Los Angeles area I have seen several new AT&T macro sites go up in the last 3 months. After a period of inactivity it seems like AT&T is trying to densify its network here. The carriers selling off their towers has created some interesting co-location opportunities.
-
You're not the only one. I too liked "Spark", but its application was confusing. Perhaps it is better used as a name for a carrier.
-
The 2nd B41 carrier is present around the Daytona Beach / Ormond area, however there are still a lot of Clear B41 sites with one carrier. Also, I did not come across a 2nd B25 carrier in this area. Overall the balance between B25, B26 and B41 seemed to work very well during my short visit.
