  1. This is the GMO site with B41? Am I massively confused, or does that mean it's still using legacy 1900 MHz panels?
  2. Do you happen to have any pictures of the site?
  3. Very true. Mr. Bye I apologize for associating your good name with music from a 90s boy band. That was low. Keeping with the music theme, maybe we can get Taylor Swift to tweet San Bernardino County to get their rebanding done already.
  4. WSJ article states that Sprint has changed its Throttling policy: http://www.wsj.com/articles/an-early-net-neutrality-win-rules-prompt-sprint-to-stop-throttling-1434595276
  5. There is a related conversation happening here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7025-lte-speeds-signal-snr/
  6. That's the million dollar question. I just searched through the Board of Supervisors public records and they haven't brought this up at a meeting yet.
  7. I'm not sure. The "before" image is from Google. Here's why I thought it might be TMO: 1. Looks like other TMO sites. 2. One equipment shed still says "Cingular". 3. I've never seen an AT&T macro site with only 2 panels per sector in LA. Of course I've been very wrong before!
  8. Chunkyrice broke this news in the LA Metro thread: Looks like San Bernardino Rebanding is delayed slightly. https://www.fcc.gov/document/county-san-bernardino-california-and-nextel-communications-inc
  9. Good find. Here's a link to the FCC doc about the subject: https://www.fcc.gov/document/county-san-bernardino-california-and-nextel-communications-inc
  10. Please let this be the case. I'm about to stage a protest outside of the San Bernardino County offices. Here's the chant: "We want B26! When do we want it? Now!"
  11. Not sure if this before/after of a site that used to have similar equipment narrows down the possibilities. Note that the mystery carrier has been removed. (My labeling might be grossly incorrect, apologies in advance.)
  12. Forget the standard donation process. Open this up to a bidding war based on FCC spectrum auction rules!
  13. We're all waiting on San Bernardino County to finish rebanding. There may be an update in mid to late June. Maybe someone else has better intel.
  14. Nothing like a good mystery! There's a tower near me with the same panels and configuration. I'm going to check it out this weekend. The tower near me doesn't match up well with the coverage shown on Towerstream's coverage map. It's definitely not the Big 4 and not Metro PCS and Time Warner's Wi-Fi system is street level.
  15. Nice! Sprint, Clear, TMO and that poor Verizon tower, loaded with every panel they've ever used. Edit: Not Clear.
  16. .72 GB so far this month. I've had months up to 10. I guess I don't really need Unlimited, but I like the idea of it.
  17. AT&T probably sees it more like this: Now witness the fire power of this fully-armed and operational battle station! But of course we all know that didn't work out as expected.
  18. This deal is probably more about the brands and content producers under the AOL umbrella than the AOL brand itself. Think: Huffington Post, Engadget, Moviefone, Stylelist, etc.
  19. Anyone know if Metro RF Services does subcontract work for Sprint? I'm trying to sort through a bunch of permit applications that specify the work being done as installing "3 new panel antennas, 3 RRUs and associated cabling." It seems like that could either go for new 8T8R equipment for Sprint or new 700 MHz panels for TMO. Unfortunately the permit applications don't specify panel size and by strange coincidence all of the sites I found today have both Sprint and TMO located at the same site.
  20. Here's a permit application: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5512-nv-20-tdd-lteband-41-permit-applications/?p=311705 Here are plans: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5107-lte-800-band-26-sites-accepted-discussion/?p=404287
