  1. Bad idea imo. I just do not see how they are going to be able to force those customers to switch to a HSPA/LTE device quickly. Their options would be slowly integrate( like sprint has done with nextel) and pay for two networks, or do it quickly and lose most of the customers.
  2. Thanks for clarifying. I thought it was release 10, but at least they do not have to make hardware changes like Verizon or ATT.
  3. I thought Sprint was going with LTE release 10, not release 9.
  4. I just do not see this as being a good idea. different technologies, plus none of their customers are locked into a contract, so they could all leave after the deal goes through. Also I think US cellular would be a smarter deal. US has some 700, plus with verizon selling their lower A and B, Tmobile would be able to get a decent amount of 700mhz coverage.
  5. Nokia Siemens has developed radio technology. That would reduce the cost of building a TD-LTE network by a 1/3rd. It improves coverage by 40% and capacity by 80%. http://www.nokiasiemensnetworks.com/news-events/press-room/press-releases/nokia-siemens-networks-launches-industry-s-first-td-lte-6-pipes-remote-radio-head
  6. I think the story has less to do with the iPhone and more to do with disgruntled investors who are not seeing profits, while Hesse is getting large bonuses. This is him showing he is willing to sacrifice like the investors do. Hesse is leaps and bounds better than Stephenson.
  7. I do not think Clearwire will have problems with Ericsson. They have gotten 968Mbps using 60mhz of spectrum. This is however 8x8 MIMO. http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/28/ericsson-takes-lte-advanced-next-level-notches-1gbps-downloads/
  8. I know. That was just 60mhz. I hope clearwire works with NSN. This along with their "Six Pipe" radio head would really push Clearwire in the forefront of LTE speeds and capacity in cities. I am more shocked at the fact that they were getting 300+Mbps per 20mhz carrier. Does anyone know if Clear plans on continuing their retail service once LTE gets turned on? I so totally want those type of speeds with unlimited in my home.
  9. I also feel underwhelmed. I will probably wait to see what Motorola comes out with.
  10. Man, I guess I am one of the lucky ones when it comes to home internet. My Uverse gets me a consistent 11 down, 2 up. When I had comcast I never got below 15 down.
  11. The idea of similar speeds with unlimited data gets me real excited.
  12. I remember reading that Sprint had 10% of their customers adopt WiMax in its first year, and that they sold more WiMax devices last year than Verizon sold LTE.
  13. Wow those are some speeds. That is the type of first impression you want to make with your new network.
  14. Slowing down NV is very disappointing. I hope they find a way to catch up.
  15. If you only cracked the back glass, you could replace it yourself. A few sites sell replacements. You would only need to remove the two small screws at the bottom on the sides of the 30 pin. here is a video of the process
