  1. Both those things are exciting. FTTH will be great for urban areas and fixed wireless could solve a lot of poor rural speed problems.
  2. Well yeah that makes sense because isn't fixed LTE supposed to be capable of 1 Gbps? Also I meant your comment about FTTH being around the corner (hence why I bolded it).
  3. Could you explain that? Are you talking about your wireless stuff or actual FTTH?
  4. In my opinion if it uses CDMA it is 3G. Yes, that means that you have to include HSPA in that group as well. I would also say that LTE (even the non-advanced kind) is 4G because it uses OFDMA.
  5. I think the OP was just saying Verizon's EDGE is funny because a large portion of its network is EDGE then the next guy thought he was dissing T-Mobile and now it's some kind of, as AJ would call it, e-penis contest.
  6. Oh man, I knew this was true and it's still heartbreaking.
  7. The only reason Sprint would get in the AWS game would be if there was a fire sale because another operator had to sell some off.
  8. I know that Sprint would sell any AWS it gets but as for the A block, I'm not sure what they would do with it. As far as the sale of USCC goes, like I said in this thread before, until they are signs that there is going to be a sale, it's just a silly rumor.
  9. Customers weren't mentioned at all and would only only make a piecemeal more tricky.
  10. Unless they could get the PCS for cheap I don't see Sprint spending the money to get scraps while T-Mobile walks away with the real prize (band 5). Especially when Sprint's network is already basically setup for it while T-Mobile would have to go back and add it on.
  11. Not to mention we're still a long time till VoLTE is a realistic option.
  12. That's really cool for the price, I've never used a spectrum analyzer and have never really had a reason to but if this works well I might have to get one.
  13. This is something I would like to see. Everybody wins in that scenario, Sprint would boost it's rural coverage and USCC would have access to Sprint's properly bachauled LTE and, to make AJ happy, It remains an independent company.
  14. Yup, You won't see any Intel modems on Sprint phones while Sprint still uses CDMA
  15. Why? US Cellular fits in perfectly with their spectrum while Leap's primary asset was AWS. Also, until I see something more definitive this is just a silly rumor.
  16. Completely pointless for Sprint people, but yes I imagine this will help them. I think they're first LTE modem is supposed to debut Q1 2014.
  17. You end up losing some of the benefit when you use a LCD panel, assuming the notifications are white text with black backgrounds.
  18. That's really weird, all I did was delete the parts that weren't relevant to cut on on the amount of scrolling on the page for the quote.
  19. For those that don't know AJ made a typo and meant band 26 LTE 800. Unless he meant band 25 LTE and CDMA 800 but that doesn't make much sense given the context.
  20. Have you seen the openCL thing? Google is actively blocking when vendors implement it. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=36361
  21. Are you saying that Sprint is investing in it's Wireline business again?
  22. Oh, I agree that they aren't blameless and that they've had their problems I just didn't want anyone to see it and be like "OMG NO LTE WTF FAIL ALU."
  23. I'm not sure you can blame Arizona on ALU. Look at how many sites they have complete but are missing backhaul.
