  1. This article agrees with you, so that's good enough for me. http://www.radio-electronics.com/info/cellulartelecomms/umts/umts-wcdma-modulation.php
  2. Maybe instead of highways you should use a movie theater restroom right after the movie gets over. That might be more up his alley.
  3. While that may be true, it's kind of irrelevant because don't most/all HSPA use a higher modulation?
  4. If they're smart they'll get to work putting in the fiber to those rural sites now as opposed to when they need it and then wouldn't have to deal with crap Sprint has to do now. Off topic: the Sprint wireline discussion got me thinking, does T-Mobile have a fiber backbone like Sprint or do they use other peoples?
  5. So, is the official consensus that Samsung that is going to deploy the TD-LTE RRUs for Alcatel-Lucent markets?
  6. As others have said that isn't fair at all because what Sprint and T-Mobile are doing are two completely different things. T-Mobile is just Cherry-picking sites and slapping on an RRU, whereas Sprint is going through their whole network and replacing the cabinets, RRUs and putting in proper backhaul for LTE.
  7. Do you know why some areas have such a hard time getting backhaul? Is Sprint just very low on some list or does it take a long time to set everything up?
  8. The main problem was it was too long without laughs for me, but to each his own.
  9. But he talks about roaming being about the customers and what about Sprint customers roaming on rural carriers? You need band 12 and unless they use some other bands, you can't get around that.
  10. He doesn't specifically say band 12 but he does talk about roaming on 700 MHz and you need band 12 to do that.
  11. Depends on the area. I know CenturyLink is one of the main ones and I they also will use more local providers sometimes, like in Iowa they use MediaCom.
  12. Yeah, they resolved it. I was just saying that's why they haven't done anything with it yet.
  13. While that is certainly possible, I wouldn't count on it because there's only so much you can do. I think what needs to happen is that the operators need to rethink their networks and space them better (or use more small cells) to make up for LTE's fragility.
  14. Ugh, sad but true. The Internet is slowly becoming just a place for people to complain.
  15. If something on the Internet offends you, you're going to have a bad time.
  16. I thought they couldn't deploy it until they worked out the problems with satellite radio?
  17. Hmmm, so wouldn't that imply that they aren't using it yet? I looked it up again and China Mobile is the one that uses TD-SCDMA so I think as long the iPhone supports those bands it should be fine.
  18. I thought they were band 38? You could be right though, I don't know much about China's operators.
  19. Yeah, what I think will it end up happening is instead of putting in bands 2 and 5 they'll put on 25 and 26 and will then leave off 41, but we'll know soon enough.
  20. So is there anything substantial to this rumor or is it all coming from people who want the GS4 but know that getting a non-triband Sprint phone at this point kinda stupid?
  21. I think they're being general on that page. If you notice in the LTE part it lists SVLTE but we know from FCC documentation that the Sprint variant doesn't have that. Also, I can't remember which one but one of the Korean operators uses (or used) 1XEVDO. EDIT: It appears that the operator that uses EVDO was, ironically, LG U+.
  22. Sorry, in the post I said that EDGE was Verizon's network but I meant T-Mobile, although that should be pretty obvious.
