  1. Huh, I didn't know that. It' kinda funny then that now they can only use Qualcomm SoCs.
  2. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1463-4g-cores-switch-centers/?hl=%2Blte+%2Bcore+%2Blist&do=findComment&comment=30027 Is this what you were talking about?
  3. That didn't use to be the case though : http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Nokia-6585_id555
  4. I don't see how this could be true. band 3 is commonly referred to as 1800 with the upload at 1710 - 1785 and download 1805 -1880 whereas band 4's upload is within band 3 it's download is ~300 MHz off. A more accurate description would be band 4 is a mismatch of bands 1 and 3.
  5. No, that isn't how they reached 8X. 2 CPU cores, 4 GPU cores, 1 Natural Language Processor and 1 other chip that I can't recall.
  6. Yeah, I'm betting it's cheaper to bundle it all with Qualcomm. As far as how it is all integrated is the part where I start to get confused. The part for ac is WCN3680, but it's still integrated with the SoC. Here's a couple of articles where Brian Klug talks about it: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5942/qualcomm-atheros-makes-two-80211ac-solutions-official-wcn3680-and-qca986x http://www.anandtech.com/show/5594/qualcomm-atheros-demos-80211ac-on-msm8960
  7. The most interesting part of this phone is that it's using Qualcomm's AC chip instead of Broadcom. For that reason alone makes the phone interesting to me anyway.
  8. Peer pressure can be a good thing sometimes. A little donation from me for your TD-LTE Adventure
  9. I Imagine they kept quite a bit of the Qwest management. I can't imagine Sprint is very happy with them, they're likely losing customers because of CenturyLink's ineptness.
  10. Yeah, I probably would go USCC, provided they don't get bought. If they would get bought, then I'd have to take a good look at the options available. And yes, the unlocked SIM for Verizon is because of FCC mandate on 700 MHz spectrum they bought. Also, I feel like that's something that SoftBank will change as they start to really take over.
  11. If they would make John Legre the CEO of a Sprint-T-Mobile merger, I'd leave at the soonest available oportunity.
  12. Yeah, in the long run that's probably true, but for the markets that are having a hard time getting backhual (looking at you AZ) that's a tough pill to swallow.
  13. No, haven't you learned anything in your time here? the correct term is Koi, remember?
  14. Oh come on AJ be nice. How else is he supposed to know which end the back is?
  15. Actually they usually do the downtowns last because they are usually harder to upgrade.
  16. Why do you specifically single out AT&T and not include Verizon? From my vantage point they're basically the same thing.
  17. If Prepaid is the key then no one could stop a Sprint-T-Mobile merger/accquistion. I mean, how could Verizon and AT&T compete with Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile and T-Mobile (that's a lot of mobiles) on the prepaid front?
  18. For those who haven't yet, I would recommend reading Brian Klug's mini review of the new Nexus 7: http://anandtech.com/show/7176/nexus-7-2013-mini-review He reveals in interesting point that in android 4.3 TRIM in enabled so that when the device is idle it will clean up the NAND. Also, for you OG Nexus 7 people this feature is in the 4.3 version for OG Nexus 7 so that should help performance.
  19. I'm talking about my specific city's ISPs. They can make a fiber network, but they can't use the coaxial, as far as I know.
  20. Anyone can install fiber, but last time I heard they have a legal monopoly on coaxial.
  21. It's taking a lot of restraint to not make a joke about this. That being said, I don't hate my ISP, I just wish they had some competition. They have the coax monopoly so unless you want DSL, it's just take what you're given and hope it doesn't hurt too much.
