    Samsung's stuff has never really been that great IMO, I know Tegra 4 is a flop but I do think that they'll be really competitive once they integrate project Denver. You also need to include Intel as they will be competitive as well in early 2014 with "Merrifield" SoCs.

    I kind of lump caps and throttling in the same category. Like I think T-Mobile's 5GB cap is one where after you go over you get EDGE like speeds.

    I guess I should explained myself better, what I meant was with that signal strength, performance has to pretty unideal.

    That's a bad LTE signal, I'm surprised that it connects to that at all.

    Yes, it does. It will really hurt when AJ comes back shows you that you are incorrect.

    On the mobile side where everyone has to share the bandwidth, caps are a good thing.

    Yup, I thought the same thing, Data caps are actually a good thing for the network but the prices for those data caps is way too high.

    Oh wow I didn't realize they made network equipment before the merger. It would hilarious though if Microsoft bought them just to troll Nokia.

    Actually I think you mean Lucent, they were the ones with the network stuff while Alcatel makes phones.

    How is Qualcomm going to make the signal more usable? I would think that would fall more into the lap of network vendors.

    I don't think it would be a big problem, what I would do is leave it on it's own while LG works on integrating it, while giving it the cash it needs to compete with Samsung/NSN/Ericsson.

    Right, which is why I still think they might make something like 1X, but have it only for voice/SMS. That's probably wishful thinking on my part though.

    I don't think so, but I could be wrong about that.

    It's a little smaller but have you looked at the G2? It's bigger than the S4 but not as big as the Note and it has guaranteed Tri Band.

    AJ, am I crazy for thinking that VoLTE won't ever be "fixed" because of the nature of LTE's fragile airlink?

    My hope is that LG tries to copy Samsung and buys Alcatel-Lucent (the network division, to be clear) so that Alcatel-Lucent could have the funding it needs while not taking a player out of the market.

    Didn't you say that your area is one of the ones where Verizon owns both Cellular blocks?

    I wish we knew when the event was, I know the rumor is the 14th but I wish we had something more concrete.
