  1. If it were me, I would force roam until they finish with the upgrades.
  2. Your signal is amazing. You must be right next to a cell site!

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I have the same issue with my EVO 3D sometimes.
  4. But not all of us have a Sprint tower in our backyards!
  5. Ever since I put ICS on my EVO 3D, I have been unable to use the ##PRL# code. This is with the older EPST.apk as well, so I think it has to do more with ICS than the EVO LTE.
  6. The spacing is not that bad in the city of New Orleans as it was always a corporate owned market for Sprint. Baton Rouge, on the other hand, was built out by a network affiliate, and the tower spacing here is pretty terrible.
  7. Here you go. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-81-portland-oregon-is-scheduled-to-be-in-the-second-round-of-sprint-network-visionlte-deployment-in-2012/
  8. I'm hoping that some of the leases on the iDEN only sites don't expire for a couple years and Sprint could then use the existing structure to add CDMA equipment if their finances improve. I'm not an RF engineer, but it's not hard to see that Baton Rouge needs more sites. The iDEN only sites are all over the place here and would be perfect for filling in major coverage holes and making this market a very solid competitor to the big 2. If the leases expire and Sprint decides they want to add sites here later on, it'll be just like you said Robert in that the barrier to entry will be much more expensive.
  9. Come on Robert, you used to scour the maps and news sites to get all the new protection sites for us!!
  10. Verizon was "ok" in our market before the Alltel buyout, but I agree with you in that they are the best carrier here now. ATT probably has the most cell sites, but I will never be on their network (dropped calls, data capacity issues, dropped calls). Sprint bought Gulf Coast Wireless, whom we all can agree may have been the worst regional wireless provider to ever exist. You are correct in that Sprint put no money into the network after the buyout and just let it get worse and worse. The introduction of the EVO really exposed how bad it was. But Sprint's biggest mistake in the Baton Rouge market was not utilizing any of the iDEN sites to beef up coverage and fill gaping holes in the middle of the city. I believe they did add CMDA to iDEN sites in New Orleans, but I don't have the details of which sites.
  11. I hear most people are very happy with their Photons. I like my Evo 3D, but I am considering picking up a used Photon to play with for a little while. I'm curious how much better the RF performance is in my area. I know the development community is not as active for the Photon, but are there good roms out there for it?
  12. Yep, and it's the same thing with roads. "I want better infrastructure...........but just don't put anything around here"
  13. I'm still amazed at how clear that pic is. Nice job.
  14. Right, if you're going to modernize your entire network, use what you have in front of you to make the best possible decision. When Verizon bought Alltel, they integrated this entire market. They decommissioned some Alltel sites where a Verizon site was nearby, but they utilized both sites to attain maximum coverage.
  15. Agree completely. I was never insinuating they need to keep all the iDEN sites. That would make no sense. You live in Los Angeles where Sprint has lots and lots of CDMA sites and many of them were created from co-locations. Here in Louisiana and a lot of other areas, there are not enough sites. With all the money Sprint spent on the planning of NV, it would have made sense to use the best location possible, whether that is a CDMA site or an iDEN site. This would have been a great opportunity for Sprint to correct the mistakes Gulf Coast Wireless made in this area.
  16. Robert, a guy on Hofo started this thread. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1758587-Changes-in-Chicago-NID-Changes-and-Dropped-Calls Could NV be causing the problems described there?
