  1. So the nextel merger was a huge financial drain to Sprint as we all know. So let's at least use the infrastructure that we overpaid for in the beginning to thicken coverage and provide a better service to our existing and potential future customers, right? No, we'll just shut it all down. Makes sense. Sorry for the negative post, but this decision really does bother me, especially when I read that Mr. Hesse got a 31% pay increase. Ok, back to being positive.
  2. iDEN only sites won't be getting CDMA voice either though, correct? The entire site will be decommissioned is how I understand it.
  3. No doubt. My personal phone is an EVO 3D and it's a great phone. The Amazon deal was excellent as every Sprint Android phone was a penny and they were even waiving the activation fees until 3/19.
  4. Darn, I see that now. The Amazon deal ended on 3/26. I started a thread about it a couple weeks ago.
  5. Amazon has had it for a penny since the beginning of March as well as the Epic 4G Touch, which is a much better deal imo.
  6. You gotta do what you gotta do. It's unfortunate Sprint let their network get to this state in so many areas, but it is what it is.
  7. No nextel sites removed in Baton Rouge yet. I'm assuming they'll start any day now.
  8. Those aren't trouble tickets for Sprint's PCS Network. I wish we could see that though.
  9. No, I'm saying the main RF Engineer for Ericsson in the Baton Rouge market called me. Not the ticket escalation guys in Oklahoma City.
  10. I'm 99% sure you're correct on the trouble ticket aspect. I got a call last week from the head RF Engineer for the Baton Rouge market and it seems to jive with what you say. It was a pretty depressing phone call to say the least.
  11. What about Sprint? Maybe their performance engineers get bonuses depending how "low" the speeds can get?
  12. I did a little digging and found out some information about the Main switch in Louisiana. This is more of a fyi post. http://www.thebluerivergroup.com/recentProjects_details.asp?projectId=20
  13. Well, this is my speed from the tower this morning. Maybe AT&T just removed the T1 lines from this site. This is truly pathetic.
  14. I saw an AT&T truck by the building the tower sits on, so maybe he was doing something with the T1's. I'll check tomorrow when I get to work.
  15. I think so too. And if the next iphone has LTE, all carriers that offer it will see lots and lots of LTE penetration.
  16. Very nice. Thank goodness I pick up the Wimax Protection site in Baton Rouge. Without it, I wouldn't be able to watch March Madness at my desk.
  17. http://wireless.amazon.com/f/springsprint?t=slickdeals&tag=slickdeals Activation fee waived as well. Not a bad deal for new customers, even though you'll be on a Wimax device for 2 years.
  18. I've been questioning this same thought for a while now.
