  1. Even though they have been gone for a few years now, this move makes me truly miss the black and white Dan commercials. They were classy, which rhymes with the characteristic of recent T-Mobile commercials. Take a guess. AJ
  2. If Son is an Asian "Chess" player, I wonder how many a night he has spent in Bangkok... AJ
  3. If you have the market share info, you might want to reduce those operator subscriber numbers to just South Africa. I am a geography guy, but a lot of our members are not. They may see the 210 million and 51.5 million numbers and not realize that South Africa has a population of approximately 52 million. AJ
  4. I suspect many of our members "nut" frequently while reading S4GRU. Oh, did I reveal too much? AJ
  5. Many Magentans died to bring us this information -- and these cut rate, unsustainable plans. AJ
  6. Here are the updated top 10 standings: WiWavelength 1.698 S4GRU 1.662 kyle_4thousand 1.653 tommym65 1.458 mikejeep 1.342 topdownat4 1.288 kineticman 1.226 The Dave 1.159 mrrogers1 1.089 Mr.Nuke 1.056 "Others receiving votes:" JeffDTD 1.036, bmoses 1.035, SturgeonGeneral 1.012 Not much has changed since the last poll. Noted admin S4GRU has firmly reclaimed his second spot from the upstart kyle_4thousand. And kineticman, just before the trade deadline, has used some wheeling and dealing today to surge past The Dave into the #7 spot. Finally, the 1.700 "Like" to post ratio is becoming akin to batting the elusive .400 in baseball. So, can WiWavelength be the Ted Williams of S4GRU? AJ
  7. Based upon the generous support today, I will update the S4GRU "All-Star" standings tonight. Stay tuned... AJ
  8. Josh is the S4GRU FCC OET ambassador. All requests to port in or out of S4GRU must now go through the embassy in Pahrump, NV. AJ
  9. Oh, really? The number 26 has a different opinion. AJ
  10. I am not sure what the average is, but I think Robert is trying to low ball me into a "franchise tag" contract this year. AJ
  11. Yes, Tim is correct. Unless Sprint does help develop an LTE femtocell, IMS based Wi-Fi calling will be the future. CDMA2000 femtocells will be retired. AJ
  12. She has an e/CSFB handset. Tempestuous LTE can affect call and SMS page delivery. We have too many similar Airave threads already. But this is a legitimate question. AJ
  13. The Robert M. Herron Museum of Modern Cellphones is appalled. And the Andrew J. Shepherd Memorial wing of the museum is now lacking in artifacts. AJ
  14. For a local resident, I can certainly appreciate that. But the last time that I was in Boston in 2010, I had rented a car so that -- after a Red Sox game and a few days in the Back Bay -- my girlfriend and I could drive out for a night to a hotel reservation at the far end of Cape Cod. The car rental location was right off the Green Line, and the frequent stations along BU made it easy to carry luggage for only a block, then hop a train to Logan for the flight home. AJ
  15. The 50 offset is there again. But are you sure that you do not have those TACs transposed? AJ
  16. Include the infrastructure vendor: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Samsung, or Nokia. The 50 offset between band 25 and band 26 seems to be consistent only within Ericsson markets, if that. AJ
  17. The wireless gods have already addressed that question... http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4711-nebraska-iowa-market-spreadsheets-and-maps/?p=341156 AJ
  18. Yep, and here is the pattern already. The band 26 TAC is the band 25 TAC + 50. I have finally paid attention and can corroborate the same in my market. AJ
  19. S4GRU also frowns upon eye liners, flat liners, and sewage filled cruise liners. AJ
  20. You could look at the girls who are cows. Ooh, ouch, that was cold! AJ
  21. Some of you in larger population cities will need to be more detailed in reporting your location. Your cities may be divided into multiple TACs each. We certainly have seen that with NIDs in the past. AJ
  22. Get over it. SVLTE is not coming back. The single radio design is here to stay to facilitate carrier aggregation and VoLTE in the future. AJ
