  1. Been pretty crappy in the Cranston area as of late. I hope it's due to work in progress.
  2. AT&T had a record Q4/2012 with more than 10 million smartphones sold. http://mobile.reuter...130108?irpc=932 Verizon is claiming its best quarter ever with 2 million new subs added. http://www.phonearen...Q4-2012_id38479 People don't care about cost I guess, seem content to be where they are and the shared data seems to be working. Sprint will always be damaged goods to many unfortunately.
  3. What do you think about the new Blackberries coming out?

    LG Optimus G

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually had the S3 for about 29 hours and the RF was terrible on it. I like the screen (although 4.3" would be fine for me), the resolution, the OS on the G and while it's only been connected to Wi-Fi seems pretty impressive. I still can't find any info on the Jelly Bean Update. I hope it's around the corner.
  5. That was a great game. I hope they beat Denver so we can have another shot at them

    LG Optimus G

I don't want to dig up an old thread but do we have any more reviews on this puppy? I've got an iPhone 5 and I do like it but I also have the Optimus G brand new sitting in its box. One of them is making its way to eBay but I am hesitant to use the G so as not to diminish it's resale value. The iPhone 5 still can command decent money used. I don't care either way between iOS vs Android, just looking for some more reviews now that it's been out a bit.
  7. I had asked the same question in another thread and it comes down to everything lining up and going perfectly. It could be 3 weeks, it could be 3 months from start till the LTE switch being turned on. In progress won't always mean you will see cranes erecting panels or personnel on the towers. There is a lot of work on the ground also. Sent using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks, I just booked a trip for next week for a few days then the last 3 weeks in February. I'll be leaving my wife at the pool and going LTE hunting.
  9. LSD seems to be getting upgraded and I can believe it as 3G was very good when I was down there. No LTE yet however Salisbury MD has a few live sites.
  10. I'm on the EPRP program. 82.00 a month (including taxes) for 500 peak land line minutes, nights @7pm, mobile to any mobile, unlimited data, blah blah blah. Based on full retail, I'm getting about an 18.75 a month device subsidy on my iPhone 5. I really think I have the better deal at this point. This may catch someones eyes as a good thing at first but it's like that good looking girl you saw out at a dark bar room. Well, you thought she was good looking till your beer goggles came off and the lights came on.
  11. +1 I can do everything I need to do on dependable, consistent, +1Mbps 3G. I'm sure if I gamed or watched movies I would think otherwise but how much is enough? Those that proudly display their 28Mbps download speeds are no different than those that think it's important to have coverage in places they will never go. Sent using Tapatalk
  12. I think the plans are fine. Hesse has stated he wished there were no phone subsidys but yet, the phone selection is terrible. If someone wants to pay retail for an S3 or EVO LTE (for example) or better yet fire up a used EVO, Photon etc why not take that business? T-Mobile's prepaid 70.00 a month prepaid plan now has unlimited talk, text and (non throttled) 4G. Coverage being equal, it's a much better offering due to a much better device selection. Anyone notice the Samsung Galaxy Victory is missing the LTE on the end of the name?
  13. Wal-Mart is OK for prepaid phones but that's where it ends for me. I will only deal with a corporate store or online directly from Sprint.

    ZTE Aurora

As much as the offering has no appeal to me, the Sprint Pay As You Go may have a niche.

    ZTE Aurora

The Warp and Warp Sequent are certainly nothing to write home about. The Sprint as you go could be a possibility. Since they are bottom fishing why not add a Huawei to the mix. Kyrocera, ZTE and Huawei............what a trio.
  16. "Flabbergasted." I know, I think he should have used Bamboozled
  17. Anybody in the Hallandale FL area notice anything yet? I'll be down there next month for a few weeks (1 mile east of Gulfstream) and would love to see some LTE fired up.
  18. Actually, every tower in every city and town will get it. Our puny little State only has 144 towers so I'm hoping it doesn't take to long. If it got done mid 2013, I'd be ecstatic.
  19. Wishing all, health, happiness , peace and prosperity for 2013. And of course, LTE coverage everywhere!
  20. Actually I don't think Metro supports it but I know Verizon prepaid is now allowing the (4 & 4s) device. 80.00 a month unlimited TNT with 2GB of data. The 2GB of data is supposedly a double data promotion set to expire 01/31/13 Virgin is still a better deal and I'd love to know how many are selling at full retail.
  21. I think it came out to around 1 million devices per quarter which so far, they have been doing. When you factor in current sales trends, owners upgrading and the fact that the 4 along with the 4s are available on Virgin Mobile for as little as 30.00 a month I think they make it. I'm of the belief the ONLY reason it went to prepaid was to get devices out the door.
  22. I'm just as excited to see dependable, consistent, 3G speeds showing up. Increased signal strength will help in a few areas and 800Mhz will be the icing on the cake. Other than when I tether on a rare occasion, I don't know how much LTE is going to benefit me. But of course I still want it since both my phones are capable of it. Got 1.80 down, .98 up yesterday on RT138 between URI and RT 95 Any other RI peeps noticing better 3G?
  23. Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad or Buon Natale to my fellow forum members. No matter how you say it, may your day be blessed.
  24. When I could find a signal in RI about 6-10 was the norm depending on time of day. When I'm down in Hollywood FL the average is 3-4Mbps at the condo which isn't bad considering I get a decent signal inside the unit and it's one of those older 12" thick cement type structures.
