T-Mobile's new "uncarrier" strategy/plans
Mobilesolutions replied to ChadBroChillz's topic in General Topics
T-mobile is in a transition, it may lose many of its customers but in turn it will pull from all the other carriers. I wouldn't be so quick to count them out, they appeal to select groups. -

Did you get a chance to see your signal strength? I've seen excellent indoor performance until about -104dBm where i wish it would switch back to 3G.

Aside from the depression that is TAX DAY; today is the much awaited moment when i see crews atop my local tower on Union's PK lot, also when have you seen this speed on Sprint 3G!? I was also able to pull 1.98 inside my home!

In economics they teach that monopolistic competitors will match price decreases but not price increases. I don't see the price of wireless services going up.

From what i gather nobody will be able to pinpoint a time in which a tower will go live, albeit that Travis,AJ,& Robert all may receive inside information before a Sprint acceptance.

Network Vision/LTE - Missouri Market (includes St. Louis)
Mobilesolutions replied to riddlebox's topic in Markets
Has anyone in the STL area started to compile a list of the SID's you connect to? it's the best way to know how many towers are in the area and which tower you are actually connected to.- 8,814 replies

The signal bars are only for your 1X connection, which is primarily voice signal. To know your actual signal strength you should use the engineering screen on your phone, or "signalcheck" app; although perhaps slightly less accurate but will still give you a general idea of your connection strength. Congrats on the in building LTE!

The particular tower i'm talking about is view able from my bedroom window. If i put on my magic glasses i can see the gamma rays coming off it (JK) No but i did watch them run the fiber out to the box located right next to the tower. Is it live? idk, is it in place, yep.

T-Mobile LTE & Network Discussion
Mobilesolutions replied to CriticalityEvent's topic in General Topics
Actually i'll take the other side of the fence and say these mergers are great for consumers, excellent for your wallet and increase your number of choices. Most of these mergers give the carriers a larger spectrum portfolio and more often than not allows them to deploy more spectrum in areas where they were over capacity due to a spectrum licence absence or interference with another carriers spectrum holdings in a particular area. Second as the base carriers grow larger it gives smaller MVNO companies opportunities to resell service under their own brand name. ( look at solavei, straight talk, etc etc.)- 4,425 replies

On every site ive seen so far they have cabinets in before they show up for antennas. I know of a site that has had backhaul since February and now it has cabinets, still no antennas.... but i know one day
