  1. Sites are showing up in the schedule to go LTE live in these markets in the month of June. But I doubt their validity. For instance, LTE sites also showed up to go live in these markets in May, and none did. However, 3G is going live at NV sites in these markets, but there is a hold up on the 4G LTE in these markets. I have not been able to confirm the issue, but it's most likely backhaul or 4G core readiness. At this time, I am not prepared to release info about 4G LTE sites in these markets until at least one 4G LTE site in these markets goes "On-Air." Otherwise, I don't see any value in posting these sites. It would be a list of Sprint sites that would have had LTE this month if everything was in order. That seemed futile and members would be even more confused than by me omitting them. Robert
  2. Although you may have something with the most technical interpretation of the word "hypocrite", no one in your position who also breaks the rules has any moral standing to call someone a hypocrite on the issue. And that, of course, is my opinion. Robert

  4. *sigh* I am tiring of this argument. "Guards, send in the jesters and have them perform something humorous for my amusement." *clap, clap* AJ, is not being a hypocrite (notice the correct spelling). He has repeatedly made the point that people who grossly abuse tethering are ruining the experience for the masses. Because the network is a shared resource. Robert

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

OK. I set up Google Wallet after rooting. Thanks for the info. Robert
  6. Because Sprint will have usage based pricing on CLWR LTE, Sprint will likely not default to CLWR LTE first, but rather last. LTE 1900 first, then shunt users off to LTE 800 when 1900 starts to hit the predetermined congestion point, prior to performance degradation. Then 800 LTE users get shunted off to 2500 (if available) when its lone LTE carrier crosses the performance threshold. 2500 first would make more sense, if it weren't for the usage based pricing from CLWR. However, if Sprint should buy them out as they start deploying LTE, that could make this scenario possible of defaulting to 2500 LTE first. Robert
  7. Not me. I'm clinging to my $1.61 purchased CLWR for dear life! I won't lose money! I won't!!! However, technically, I don't lose money until I sell or they go under. Actually, I would probably make money if they went under. CLWR is worth a lot more in BK than $1.61. Sprint wouldn't allow them to go under any way. Unless they had a deal with Dish. Then they might. 8. I think that it is common practice among iSheep to capitalize 'his' when referring to the iSavior. Robert

In my verbal communication, I often use "der" and "das" to the non amusement of my friends and family. It's a horribly annoying habit. Robert

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

Do what??? I've rooted my GNex and run der Google Wallet. What's this now? Robert
  11. I don't think rooting your device is a violation with Sprint. I have seen several memos over the past year regarding rooting devices. Sprint will even work on rooted devices in their stores, exchange rooted devices under warranty and will take insurance claims on rooted devices. However, they will warn you of the risks of rooting your device and recommend to you that you should not do it. I think you just answered the question. With LTE, they can. It will be very easy for them. And it will be just as easy with DO Advanced in Network Vision 3G sites. VZW and ATT send out warning notifications to the device and via email when people tether outside of their terms now. I expect Sprint to follow suit with this soon. Robert
  12. but couldn't do it because I was roaming LOL! That should have been their first clue that something was wrong with the network in your area. Robert
  13. I'm having a flashback to Kindergarten. "OK Bobby, big B, and little b. Do you see the difference?" Robert
  14. I like the GNex a lot. But I have a few caveats. Here is my breakdown: PROS Love the sleek black front with no logo or capacitive buttons Love the vanilla Android experience. Love it!!! Love the standby battery life...drops like 1% per hour, even in CDMA/LTE mode Feels very high quality for a plastic device I like the integrated home/back/window buttons in Android 4.0 in the GNex Feels faster and more nimble than the E4GT, especially compared to the E4GT on ICS CONS Poor CDMA radio experience. I was always defending the E4GT as very little difference from the EVO. However, the GNex is a noticeably weaker performer than the E4GT. WiFi performance is slightly reduced over the E4GT. My bed, which is farthest spot in my house from the router, I used to get -55 to -60dBm WiFi signal on my E4GT, I now get -70 to 75dBm. I can use WiFi in my gazebo on all my devices, except the GNex is just out of range. Battery life during active use is not as good as I expected. Seems slightly worse than the E4GT during active use. I was expecting an improvement. The triple dot menu for use within apps get shoved all the way to the right hand side of the menu bar and can be difficult to use when one handed (like in a car). The status bar is pretty small (thin) at the top and can be difficult to read in the car, and almost impossible if you add a little direct sunlight in the mix. The pentile display is more than adequate, and isn't as bad as many people claim. But it is noticeable. And the screen seems noticeably smaller than the E4GT, even though it is technically larger. The unlock button, when you slide it to the right has a tendency to spring back and engage the camera on the other side instead of just unlocking the phone. Especially when unlocking one handed. Roam Control doesn't work. But I found a work around using Verizon PRL's and Anycut. No SD card slot. For me, it's not a big deal for capacity. It comes with 32GB of internal storage. I can't imagine though the VZW 16GB version with no SD card slot. I didn't use up the 32GB of internal/SD I had on my E4GT. However, without the SD card slot, all my music and files are still sitting in my SD card because I have been too lazy to move them to my computer and then to my device. It's always a tomorrow project. So I still have no tunes on my GNex!!! Although there were lots of criticisms about the camera, I like it. Seems to take better pics than the E4GT, albeit less MP's. I personally don't need more than 5MP's. It can be 8, 12 or 13...doesn't matter to me. 5 MP's is a minimum for me, but quality is more important than MP's. More MP's just means more wasted storage space for pics. I only take larger than 5MP photos if it is for something I may want to blow up to a poster size some day. It definitely takes better photos than the OG EVO. All things considered, even though there are more negatives than positives above, I really love the phone. The only con to me that makes it difficult for me is the radio performance. If I spent most of my time in an urban/suburban area, it would likely not be a problem. But I spend most of my time in rural areas, and on the road. So, for me, it's been a love/hate thing. I love the device, but I am hoping for a much better radio in my GS3 that should arrive next week! Robert
  15. Yes. These are just the sites that are scheduled to go live in the month of June. This does not include sites that were reported live in the past. We track those in the NV Completed Sites thread. Hopefully, these sites will be over there soon. Robert

    NYC LTE updates?

OK, I have scoured through the permissions. For some reason, "Upload" was only checked as permissible for members in two forums. Now all the forums have been selected. However, they were all already checked for Moderators. If someone can confirm if they are able to see the attachment button in other forums now, that would be great. Thanks! Robert
  17. The sites in Waco are live LTE sites. We have had several members connect to them. Waco was a LTE FIT for Ericsson. Robert
  18. There are several sites complete in the Alpharetta area already. S4GRU sponsors can look at an interactive map showing complete sites here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/517-nv-sites-complete/ Robert
  19. I think we all are discussing about usage in peak scenarios. But I appreciate the explanation for those who may not be on the same page, or have the same network understanding. Robert
  20. I notice "his" is not capitalized. Robert
  21. Their switches often already choke where they connect to the internet. It's going to be even more crucial for their 4G cores to have a full pipe to the internet. 400GB/s is good, but it's only a stop on the Metro line. They will need 1TB/s before they know it. Sounds like Sprint is trying to keep just ahead of the curve. Robert
  22. I am laughing almost hysterically! Robert
