  1. I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at...but I got a chuckle out of it. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  2. With -67 RSRP you would pretty much have to be near the tower with line of sight to a panel. That is a -42 RSSI equivalence. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  3. The issue that drives panel size is the antennas they house. The lower the frequency, the larger the antenna must be. And physics dictates that. Since NV panels house 800MHz antennas, the length is pretty much set in stone. They can make them longer, but they cannot make them shorter. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner

  5. What was your signal like at the time? You cannot rely on bars for indicating LTE signal strength. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  6. Remember that it was not too long ago the entire network stunk. Now there are more and more places getting better and better. Do not be frustrated. If you lived in a place like San Antonio where deployment is crawling, then you can get frustrated. In LA, there is something new and exciting occurring every day. 7. Your phone stays connected to the Sprint network even when your phone is on WiFi. It still gets time updates from your local tower unless you go into airplane mode. I would turn off automatic time until Sprint fixes the time zone problem. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  8. There are likely sites receiving deployment now. There may be some sporadic and isolated LTE sites in the next few weeks. However, they will not have a prelaunch amount of service until closer to the end of the year. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  9. All upgrades in the future have been removed in all markets. The site is only currently showing upgrades completed since they changed the format of the site the other day. It no longer shows New Towers, either. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  10. Also note that the expanded detail in the Premier Sponsor maps are for the First and Second Round of Network Vision only. S4GRU currently does not have detailed information on 3rd and 4th Round markets. We do have site maps of all Sprint sites (regardless of Round) in the standard Sponsor section. Robert
  11. Yes. I also knew that the EVO had LTE Connectivity problems before it even went on Pre-Order. I know lots of things. Robert
  12. S4GRU Members! Please remember that the posting guidelines for articles are the same for the forums. Non-conforming comments are removed. See the posting guidelines: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1197-s4gru-posting-guidelines-aka-the-rulez/ Robert

  15. To clarify, network.sprint.com shows work being handled by Sprint's network maintenance contractor, not Network Vision contractors. Things like adding to a site additional CDMA voice carriers, additional 3G EVDO data carriers and upgraded backhaul (which is additional T1 lines in most instances at non-NV sites). Occasionally you will see one of these markers at a post NV site. Some NV sites will show data speed upgrades, which is believed to be because the site now has has their backhaul upgraded. Also, some NV sites may show additional voice and EVDO carriers, if additional capacity was added by Network Vision contractors. However, we have never seen any NV sites on these maps in advance. In the few instances where an NV site shows up on the network.sprint.com site, it is always in the past tense of upgrades that have occurred. And they are never specifically identified as Network Vision. You would only know if you go back and compare to our NV Sites Complete maps. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  16. You are just on the edge of a LTE signal. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
