  1. I see Martinsville and Muncie show up on the Sensorly maps today. Robert
  2. It is likely market wide. The issue, as i understand it, was core related. Robert via Moto Photon Q using Forum Runner
  3. Coverage is definitely not different. I bet the Freedom POP device has a much stronger radio. This was definitely noticeable with some WiMax hotspots being vastly superior to the EVO. Robert via Moto Photon Q using Forum Runner
  4. We do not discuss Premier Sponsor content outside of those forums. Sorry. Robert via Moto Photon Q using Forum Runner
  5. We also had our first Riverside/San Bernardino market site accepted by Sprint in this week's update. I think you may be on to something. I think AlcaLu is just letting loose all over SoCal. Kind of like how Samsung is around the Bay Area. Just completely ignoring market boundaries and just working any place they have a site ready. Robert
  6. We have not received scheduling for the Upper Central Valley market, yet. It will probably start in the 1st Quarter of 2013. However, we just announced that a few 3rd Round markets are starting earlier than expected. It is possible that your market may start sooner than planned too. But I certainly do not have any information at this time that would support that. Robert
  7. Even though it was probably still insufficient, the Sprint site spacing in Downtown Boston is much denser than PCS is typically. Probably closer to BRS spacing. Robert

  9. Sure seems like it. That probably means once LTE starts going live around the island, it will likely spread fast! Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  10. It's pricey. But not enough to deter me. I think I'm in. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
  11. by Robert Herron Sprint 4G Rollout Updates Tuesday, October 16, 2012 - 7:00 AM MDT Four Sprint markets that were slated to begin Network Vision/LTE deployments in 2013 are beginning early. Good news for Sprint customers in the East Kentucky, Upstate New York East, North LA and Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine Sprint markets. S4GRU has been able to confirm that Network Vision is now under way in these blessed locations. Three of these markets are being deployed by Alcatel Lucent (Upstate NY East, North LA & VT/NH/ME) and the East Kentucky market is being deployed by Ericsson. In fact, AlcaLu already has completed 3G upgrades in a small handful of sites in these markets, with 4G yet to come. Ericsson is just now beginning in the East Kentucky market and do not quite have any sites complete yet. We currently do not have detailed schedules for these markets, so we will not be able to offer projected launch dates or completion dates at this time. However, near some of the first to be converted sites, Sprint customers will start to see improved 3G speeds and possibly even some prelaunch LTE signals. You can join us here at S4GRU and track these depoyments. We have a thread we titled the Network Vision Deployment Running List where you can see a summary of all the Sprint markets currently under deployment. Additionally, we offer even more info where we track the completed sites to date on Interactive Maps in our Sponsor section. Information about sponsorship can be found here: S4GRU Sponsorship Sprint's East Kentucky Market. Ericsson is starting Network Vision/LTE deployments in the East Kentucky market. Cities that will be a part of this deployment include Lexington, Frankfort, Danville, Somerset, London, Corbin. With only 119 sites, the market may wrap up relatively quickly. Click on Map to Enlarge. Sprint's North LA Market. Alcatel Lucent has begun Network Vision/LTE deployments in the North LA market. The market includes Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. 219 sites total. Click on Map to Enlarge. Sprint's Upper NY East Market. Alcatel Lucent has begun Network Vision/LTE deployments in the Upper NY East market. The market includes the Albany metro area and Saratoga Springs. 216 sites total. Click on Map to Enlarge. Sprint's VT/NH/ME Market. Alcatel Lucent has begun Network Vision/LTE deployments in the VT/NH/ME market. The market includes all of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and NE New York. 362 sites total. 12. I do not dispute the graphic's data. However, many are confusing what it means to think that if LTE 2600 is usable for 1 mile from a site, then LTE 1900 will be usable to only 1.3 miles. And there are just so many variables that it would cause someone without the proper understanding to confuse that PCS will perform nearly identically to BRS. And I think even Verizon is hoping that is what someone will deduct that from the data, as they present it. Robert

  17. Looks like there were some custom settings mistakenly set for this forum. I think I have fixed it now. Check when you get a chance. Robert
  18. We have an article about the East Kentucky market that will publish tomorrow morning. Robert
  19. Up to 30% - 40% further than LTE 1900, but it will be highly variable site by site depending on RF engineering and downtilt of the site. Robert
  20. Verizon's graphic is misleading, as it takes five 2600 sites to cover the same area as one PCS site (when allowing the proper signal overlap). If this was the case, then Sprint could deploy 2600 right over its 1900 network and just increase the broadcast power slightly and get equal coverage. Which, of course, they cannot. Based on internal Sprint FIT documents, Sprint LTE 1900 extends 57% further from a co-located site than WiMax 2600. Not only does PCS 1900 extend a lot further, but the service area within the coverage is more dense with a stronger signal, and it penetrates much better. Robert
  21. I cannot find this site in the six Sprint site databases I have access to. If it is a Sprint site, it will show up in the weekly NV site database after Sprint accepts the site as complete. Robert
  22. Dan Hesse is off to Tokyo on a Midnight flight... LTE must be coming!
  23. Did I miss something? I do not sense any sarcasm. This is in response to something we were discussing farther up the thread. Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
