  2. I have the Note 2. It does not show LTE signal strength in bars. The only Sprint Android devices that do are LG. No HTC or Samsungs do. This is your problem. You are assuming you have a good LTE connection when you actually do not. Also, you cannot trust any third party app. If you want to know your actual LTE signal strength, go to the LTE Engineering screen. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  5. I just want to bump this thread as a reminder that I am out of the loop over the next months or so, and will not be able to respond to posts, emails and PM's very frequently. I am being PM'ed to death with lots of questions. And it will be a long time until I can respond, if at all. Robert
  6. iPhones are not WiMax capable. WiMax is a dying technology. It stopped being deployed almost two years ago. No one is creating WiMax devices anymore, and Apple never started. In order to use WiMax on an iPhone you need a WiMax hotspot or FreedomPop sleeve. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  7. It can. When it is in a Sprint LTE coverage area. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  8. Someone should work on a S4GRU one for our members. That would be cool. We have a couple graphic artists in our midst who could pull something like that off. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  9. This is a rant. You're violating our posting guidelines. You're comparing Verizon's new LTE network to Sprint's legacy network. Work just started in the Orange County market. If Sprint doesn't meet your needs, then go. However, no more ranting here, please. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1197-s4gru-posting-guidelines-aka-the-rulez/ Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  11. Try more speed test servers. Sometimes the server you may normally use can get bogged down and it may contributing to the reduced pings. Sprint requires of its vendors a ping of 90ms or less for LTE. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  12. Although you're starting to get political, there are certain things the government should facilitate. Like infrastructure. Do you think we rural folks also shouldn't have highways and utilities because they are largely funded by city people? How about you city folks start growing your own darn food? It's a symbiotic relationship. All of America benefits from solid nationwide broadband access. We are now a global world. You need all Americans to have the ability to communicate, participate and prosper. And you may find yourself in a rural area sometime, wanting to be able to communicate. I would never say that urban ghettos shouldnt have broadband unless they can come up with the money. It is fundamentally flawed to limit infrastructure. That sounds a little third worldish to me. 13. Makes the post worthwhile then. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  14. That's how I'm interpreting it. Once LTE is commonplace, SVDO won't matter much. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  16. It's a great device. It is very large though and not for everyone. Robert via Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  17. The next one that passes inspection and is accepted. It doesn't quite work the way you're thinking. There are dozens of sites being worked on. Each one goes live the moment it is ready. Robert via Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  18. I didn't like the RF Performance. Also, it's been buggy since the JB update and the battery life has really reduced. It's just a weak radio performer in comparison to my other devices. Robert via Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  19. All the remaining markets should start within the next 3 months. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  20. Its possible that SW Florida has a lot of GMO sites. I don't have GMO info for this market. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  21. Ericsson provides inspection for Sprint of Samsung sites. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  22. The term is used facetiously. Permafrost is when it is so cold that the ground never thaws out. It exists in the Arctic.<br /><br />Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk<br />
  23. The percentage complete is the percentage of sites that have had some sort of Network Vision acceptance. We can't use a percentage of totally complete with all three technologies, because we don't know what that is. Some sites do not get 800, we don't know which ones. Some sites do not get LTE, and we do not know which ones. This is the best we can do. And since most sites have all hardware installed at once, even when only one technology is accepted at a site, the rest is a formality. As for inspections, Sprint would love for each site to be fully ready at inspection with all technologies fully functioning. However, if only one technology can pass inspection and is ready, they will accept it, and they allow us to use it. Pretty cool. This is a very good thing, not a bad thing at all. Did you know that most sites do not pass inspection the first time? There are hundreds of things being checked. The inspectors create a punch list of items needing correction. Once a technology has everything complete to passable, it is accepted, regardless of the other technologies. Robert
  24. It's under way. The first two sites are live. More and more will go live every week or two. Robert
  25. I like the Note 2, the GS3 a lot. I think I would also like the Optimus G, because I have a Nexus 4 and like it a lot. I'm looking forward to the next HTC device, as I am not a fan of the EVO for a few reasons. The Photon Q was a disappointment this year. For value priced phones, the Victory is way better than the Viper. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
