  1. I have been able to get 10Mbps down to -113dBm RSRP. And you certainly would not be able to keep a weak signal of a strength of that range going inside. In most instances, you will lose 8-12dBm going indoors. If you are 8-12dBm from the threshold, you will not keep it going inside. That's true of every LTE network. And some buildings can be even far worse than 12. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  3. Sensorly does not do this. Sensorly uses crowd sourced data. The info on their maps comes from users of the Sensorly Android app. That area was mapped by real Sprint LTE customers. So the service was live in that area when it appeared. Most likely during testing. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  4. Probably not. LTE comes from the same sites, using the same band. And personally, I don't need LTE in my home. I have WiFi. I need LTE where I go. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  5. No time frames yet. The Northern CT market only began last month. In the very early stages of deployment. It is being deployed by Alcatel Lucent. AlcaLu deploys only 3G for the first 3-6 months, then starts bringing up the LTE side. So the earliest the first LTE signals could start appearing in this market would likely be March. 8. No need to apologize. I was just sharing my feelings about the subject you brought up and provide some explanation. No hard feelings whatsoever. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  9. Last year, it was understandable for someone to buy an LTE 1900 device. But this year, it makes sense to wait for a tri-band or buy a used device to hold over for tri-band devices. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  11. The tower may be at full weight because other carriers have RRU's on them. Some of the Ground Mount sites around here have AT&T RRU's on them already. Also, some low priority sites are GMO for ease of deployment, not necessarily because of physical limitations. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  12. It is. Probably a few sites will come love every week. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  13. If you are going to complain about "3 bars" of coverage inside your home, you should go to Verizon or AT&T. Seriously. On 3G EVDO and 1x voice, there is virtually no difference in performance between the signal strength you would have with 3 bars versus 5 bars. There will be a difference on LTE, but with PCS spectrum, 3 bars or better LTE signal is good. If you want 5 bars everywhere you go, you need another carrier. I don't care about bars. I care about performance. Bars don't mean much, really. It's a placebo for the ignorant. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

  17. Signal strength is only one factor. Signal quality and carrier capacity can reduce the quality. A very weak signal with a device with a strong radio, with little noise and ample carrier capacity can be crystal clear. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  18. I'll take 1-2 bars of LTE over 3G in almost every instance. Even though signal is nearly covering the borough, it is nowhere near complete. First deploy for coverage, then deploy for density. Density is the key for performance and capacity. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  23. Signal bars do not show quality of signal. You only need 9kbps for a good voice call. That can even be achieved at the threshold between zero and one bar if stationary in many instances. My point is if you have Claro or ATT on low frequency and nearby, and the signal of Sprint on 800 far away, it may not provide much help. We cannot make blanket statements that 800 will definitely help your specific conditions. It may, it may not. It will depend on how and where 800 is deployed in your area and the specifics about your specific structure. And I'm also making the point high or low signal bars don't mean much in and of itself.
