  1. It's all interesting to us. Though our membership at S4GRU is quite varied in technical knowledge, we have a core wireless enthusiast group where semantics are important. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  2. We have started a new thread for KAW-DAW. The previous thread is now over 5,000 entries and has been closed. Sorry it took me a few hours to start the new one. I received a phone call and got distracted. If you've never played Keep a Word, Drop a Word before, it is really simple. See below... Example Post 1: customer satisfaction Example Post 2: tough customer Example Post 3: tough break Example Post 4: break wind Comprendo? See, it is really simple. For each new post just keep a word from the previous post and drop the other and replace with a new one. Please KEEP your posts to JUST 2 WORDS, but if you are stuck and must to, you can include a "helper" word, like: a, the, an, etc. BUT the next post CANNOT use that "helper" word as the one they keep for the next post. You can however use the same "keep" word as the previous poster if you want to. Otherwise just have fun with it and let's see where it goes? If things get stalled out just start a new line of thought by making a new 2 word saying. I will kick off the game below...
  3. Time for a new KAW...DAW thread! Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  5. It is unlikely 8T8R sites will have eCSFB problems. They are on mature NV sites and will be connected directly to the Sprint Core. The Clearwire B41 sites needed to have their cores upgraded to allow eCSFB. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Trust me, AT&T and VZW did not and still do not acknowledge unlauched service. You can't report unlaunched problems to them either. And Clearwire was the same way with unlaunched WiMax. I used to go round and round with Clearwire people when a WiMax Protection Site would go offline. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  7. It is lame. But I think there are so many tickets related to Network Vision issues that many people are just kind of numb to them. Assuming the problem is just 'NV related' and will work itself out. They need to have people really researching these things and find out the problem. Because it seems many non NV problems are just not getting noticed and fixed, even when properly reported. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  8. State College is all upgraded to NV. They just are GMO sites without LTE. Shouldn't be a problem so long as they are connected to the same MSC. That's the only way CDMA 800 would hand off to 1900 in the area. I don't expect any LTE on State College's existing sites in 2014. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Now that NV conversions are nearly complete in the Denver area (just the Boulder and West Greenwood clusters remaining), Triband device holders should start seeing a much better LTE experience as eCSFB starts going live. B41 will become more and more prevalent inside the perimeter and B25 fire ups will continue every few days as backhaul starts to get completed and fired up. From here forward, every week or two it should be noticeably better and better around Denver. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Through the foggy haze of my 'forgotten file' that seems vaguely familiar. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  12. When you talk about all sites in their nationwide network, my guess is the following for LTE available: Verizon - 98%+ AT&T - ~80% Sprint - 68% (as of the last update) T-Mobile - ~60% (including all those rural EDGE sites) That's my take, based on what I have observed through everything I see in person and online. Sprint is starting to close in on AT&T. Especially considering AT&T is calling off their tower crews. Robert
  13. Watch signal check when you are on EVDO on a Triband. Shows 1X on a different channel, different connection. And they can be different sites/sectors. Robert
  14. I thought Plateau was bought out by VZW last year? Hmmm, Robert
  15. -95dBm RSSI (CDMA) is pretty much the same as -120dBm RSRP (LTE). So it sounds like your CDMA 800 strength is pretty much dead to rights to your LTE 800. That's good news in a post optimized area. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  16. I also want to take a moment to explain to the others I even offered you the opportunity to donate less than the average needed if that's all you could afford or to receive a gifted membership from one of our generous members if you were suffering from financial hardship. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  17. It says here in this thread we don't accept $1 for renewals. $1 doesn't help pay our site expenses. Our $1 donations take more effort in managing than they are worth. EDIT: It did not say you had to donate $20. It says we need on average $20 per donation to meet expenses. We accept less from members who cannot donate the average amount. But it must be more than a dollar or two. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  19. I got the 4.4.4 OTA update today. I accepted it without thinking and messed up my root access. Guess I'll be re-rooting. Robert
  20. They are not planning to be completed with LTE deployment 100% by mid year. But they are planning to be complete with at least Network Vision physical upgrades complete and at least 250M POPs covered in Mid 2014. At best they will launch all 97 Sprint native markets by the end of Mid 2014. But it's hard to imagine them launching Hawaii. I think in the most loose sense Mid Year is Q2 & Q3 2014. Most consider Mid Year to be from Mid May to Mid August. Robert
  21. I wait with baited breath for the new ones. Robert
