My S3 shows 4G but not LTE.

I did find out how to switch off LTE on the S4 going through the settings menu.

The only 4G the S3 does is LTE. The new update has the LTE icon but you should also see in the settings it says LTE.

2 RRUs per sector? Are you looking at the right sites? There should be 4 RRUs per sector.

The one by my job looks similar to this. I will try and get a picture tomorrow.

The third one is is behind the one at the bottom.  Dead give away there are 3 is there are 6 RF cables, Ericsson RRUs only have 2 RF ports per RRU.

Ok. I will get a picture tomorrow. Sorry still learning some things so please don't shoot me.  I just know it is frustrating with the sub par speed being as close as I am to the tower. No buildings or obstructions in between.

LTE is 4G and the S3 is LTE not wimax. By default it shows 4G like my Note 2 did before Signalcheck pro.

You  can find the spec's lots of places but one of them is here http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-Sprint_id7099

Guys.... I am a TOTAL idiot!!

I have an S2, not an S3. So I am pulling in WiMax not LTE on the S2.

That said, my WiMax is a lot more dependable than the LTE

Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry, I should have said every site should have 3 OR 4 RRUs. High capacity sites have 4, the rest have 3, and there are 3 in the picture. They're often mounted right next to each other, so if you get it from an angle, it might look like just 2.

The icon says 4GLTE...

Didn't used to, used to just say 4G. The 4.3 update for Samsung and the new Spark devices says 4GLTE.

Now I understand... I was so very confused! I can see WiMax being better in some places, especially downtown right now, and anywhere else there are more legacy sites than NV sites. But that ratio is going down every day in favor of NV sites, so I really think whatever speed issues you are seeing will pass. I know one site on the south side of Springfield is experiencing slow speeds, but only on one sector. I know that once another site in line with that sector comes online, speeds will come back up.

Will sprint or either of my phones freak out on me if I take the sim out of my GS4 and put it in my iPhone 5 for a few mins to verify HEX?

Sadly, it turns out the GS4 sim was too big for the iPhone.

At least your phones remain emotionally stable.
