Network Vision/LTE - Colorado Market (Denver/Colo Springs/Fort Collins/Pueblo/Grand Jct)

Is backhaul the biggest roadblock to getting LTE in Denver/Colorado?

Probably backhaul, and getting work permits approved. It's likely a pretty big hassle to get permits in the area. Which is why towers tend to pop up in less populated areas first.

what is the avg distance of 1x800 tower and how long does it take for a 800 tower to get accepted???

They travel 3.141592... miles and get accepted sqrt(-1) days after Einstein flips the switch.

I haven't been here long, but I get the feeling he's a troll, not legitimately asking these questions. Lol

ding ding ding ding. He asks the same questions over and over. Most general questions like the one he asked have between answered many many times or simply have no answer, "like when will I see lte?"

It really is not entertaining. At all. And I think he's not a troll in the traditional sense. He's just too type-A about this whole LTE/NV thing that he doesn't actually read responses to his questions, or hopes that if he asks the same question multiple times, someone will tell him what he wants to hear instead of what is reality. Whatever the case, you will tire of it very, very quickly. Most of us just ignore him anymore.

Ok all you guys need to be nicer people i dont understand why u make fun of me im trying to learn about the network vision ok so stop saying im a troll and all that other crap about me if u dont mind thanks.

It would help if you didn't ask the same question - or nearly the same question - every time. Also, proper grammar and punctuation go a long way in getting people to respect you. Even on the internet.

For most of your questions, find the FAQ section in the General Posts part of the site. That should answer the majority of them.

Saw some activity here in Louisville today - not sure if it's for Sprint. They've been working here all week at 908 Main st in Louisville.

Here are some pictures:

You should ask them, it seems like you're too close to them :)

Doing a little detective work, Sprint does use Mastec based on this page:

http://www.sprint.com/companyinfo/scm/supplierdiversity/success.shtml

Sprint developed a $120 million dollar, multi-year contract with Mastec for telecommunications infrastructure construction services. Mastec is the Hispanic owned business that ranked #1 in the 1999 Hispanic Business Top 500.

The first three look like it could be a Samsung NV antenna. Without being able to see the connections at the bottom, can't say for sure. The last image is for sure not Sprint.

The problem is I don't think you are trying to learn as much as you are hoping someone will give you answers, and to date I have not seen you contribute to the community.  If you have posted pictures, or speed tests or something, I certainly have not seen it.

I had brunch at The Bittersweet this morning so I walked down the block and took a few more pictures of the install at 908 Main in Louisville. To my untrained eye there seem to be a few panels with enough connections on them to be NV.

I have used the LTE sites on the north side of the Springs and they are fast. From 8-20Mbps in my tests.

LTE performance is signal strength dependent. If you are getting slower speeds, you have a really weak signal. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
