My battery life is so so, much better than my Nexus 5 for sure but I am lucky to get 3 hours of sot. For example I had my phone off the charger last night at 7:30pm, went out and did some texting and played some music on Spotify and I woke up this morning with 20%, not exactly stellar. Then again I've never gotten good battery life out of my phone's, and I have everything disabled that I don't need with package disabler pro.

The note 5 has a standby time issue that drains the battery. I lose 20% when i sleep. Where is marshmallow??!!! But my on screen time is 4-5 hours.

What the heck are you guys doing?  :)  I don't see that kind of drain.  Wipe out your cached data through settings->storage and then wipe the cache partition via recovery menu.  I do that weekly and I don't see anything like what you're describing.  If I just set my phone down and don't touch it for a while, it loses very little battery.

I'm trying this and I'll report back! Thanks for the help

My cache data is only 300mb thats not much and I do clear mine twice a week. It still happens. I dont have the battery hog facebook app either on my phone.

Just a sample of my normal drain here.  This is only 1 hour, but if I leave it for several hours (I know, who can possibly do that), it slows the rate to about 1-2% an hour.  So maybe overnight, I'd lose 20%?  Hard to say, never did that before. I don't limit anything, I have FB app installed and I have a lot of things syncing all the time.  This is on B26 LTE, which isn't strong here in my office. (the time left is based on my usage, which I use it a lot)

EDIT: I also have an Android Wear watch synced to this at all times. I know that makes the battery worse as well.

I'm curious, what is your screen brightness set at? That's my biggest drain.

I always have it on auto brightness. This was a stand-by test though, where I wasn't touching the phone at all.

I am going to conduct my own stand by test over a 8 hour period where I wont touch my phone.

Is the note 5 a good buy at this time of the year, do you guys recommend it?

With the S7 and S7 edge making there debut you might want to look into one of them. But if they dont interest you then the Note 5 is a fine choice.

Agreed, I'd probably go S7 edge if I were in the market now. Waterproof, almost same screen size, and SD card access. All specs are bumped up. Plus 3700mAh battery.

Also that Galaxy for Life plan! For sure!

Brand new for 400, plus I want to wait for the note 6 and use my upgrade on that

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
