None of the sites in Quincy currently have LTE. All the equipment is in place for LTE, the thing lacking is enhanced backhaul (fiber) that has yet to be delivered by the contracted ISP. Likely CenturyLink, as they have been the absolute slowest in many markets to deliver on their contracts. Any LTE you are picking up is coming from the Missouri market sites on the other side of the river. Different markets have different backhaul contracts, which is why LTE came online faster in Missouri.

That is so sad because I do see LTE just in downtown Quincy near the river where there are two towers north and south beaming over. They have the worst population over there, or none at all over the river. I do see improvements when going down to STL I see sprint spark all over the highway cruising down to STL. The only thing is I want to see Sprint LTE here. I have the Mifi 500 to test it from freedompop.

LTE, and even Spark should be coming to Quincy soon. Wish I could give you an exact date, but I don't think Sprint even knows when the backhaul is finally going to be finished.

Looks like a bunch of LTE sites have come on the past couple days in Springfield and Terre Haute. Hope the trend continues

Yup, just got to Springfield for work, I see b25 and b26, but not b41 yet

edit - I did see B41 briefly on the stretch of I55 by Veterans

Forgot to mention I went to Peoria on the 1st...found about 4 towers live with B41- got about 25 Meg down on each of them. Pretty nice to see that Sprint is now comparable to Verizon now!

I usually get faster then that there where were you in P-Town.

Coming in, I visually saw the panels on the tower just west of Northwoods mall - got about 28 and 32 Meg, 10 up.

Then went to the Bass Pro Shop - had a B41 signal except the in back and tested about 18-20Meg, and then B26 was pretty good and got about 8 Meg.  I think the tower I was pulling was the 4-points downtown hotel one.

Also went by Bradley - that tower didn't even have any LTE yet :o

Then the tower by the Grand Praire mall didn't have B41 yet, but B26 was very usable at 12Meg.

Looking in my SCP logs, it looks like I picked up B41 off of a few other towers....we should get a Premier thread going to track progress!!

Yeah if you travel more around P-Town and other surrounding towns Spark is activated on their towers. When I am at the Northwoods mall I get around 45 Mbs and that was during black Friday shopping when P-Town was packed with shoppers. The fastest town I have tested that has Spark has been Pekin where I have gotten 55 Mbs.

There's a new add near Tuscola on the latest map update. Nice to see Sprint adding extra sites in this region.

This - I believe was one of the old USCC towers. There are multiple spottings scattered around north central IL in rural areas of USCC equipment coming down and full-build Sprint equipment going up. None live up here yet - I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

It makes sense. At one time it was probably more economical to roam on USCC. Now that they are stuck with Verizon roaming, it probably makes more sense to build out. Also, now they can have USCC customers roaming on Sprint, which helps even out roaming revenue.

Hello all I'm brand new to the site. Just looking for some insight on the data and voice coverage in the peoria, Bloomington area. I have Us Cellular and tired of going into Bloomington and roaming. I'm just thinking about switching. Thanks in advance.
