The lift isn't on Gold Camp as of about 30 minutes ago. It's not in the parking lot either. Might be for another project or they are done using it.

Ooh, ooh! Running Sensorly this morning and I had LTE just south of International on Zinfandel. So far, 69 hits on 4G signal on Sensorly.

Anything South of International is going to be the 4G Accepted Tower way out by Jackson Road again.....What you want is to watch for 4G signal somewhere North of International....

It's the first time I actually got something that far north on Zinfandel personally. Still nothing north of....believe me, I check constantly.

This is completely unrelated (kind of) but as my UVC brothers (and sister :) ) I thought it would be best to fill everyone in. Sprint stocks are $7 a share. I was surprised upon seeing this. Softbank stock is a little over 6,000 JPY (~$60). Maybe this would be a great time to invest in Sprint.

A year ago their stock was actually hovering around $2 and then it raises to well over $7 by the end of June. You really don't see 200% + increases on investments these days. Sprint is a strong buy for long term.

So it cost a little more than a soda...so much for America's third largest cellular network provider....if it keeps up like this they have my money.

Yesterday and today there have been severe issues with data in Rancho Cordova. I'm having trouble getting e-mail and texts out, although I have not had any problems with calls. When trying to send a text or do anything data related my phone will drop to roaming. I hope this is actual NV work going on and not just a capacity issue.

I hope so. I have been having the same problem when out of Airave range.

I ended up driving up to the airport and back to pick up a family member tonight. I went ahead and ran a Sensorly mapping from downtown to the airport, then to Fair Oaks by way of I-80, then home. I had something like 39 hits on 4G. Probably from the airport.

so what kind of tower work dictates that your phones network believes it is in the mountain time zone and adjusts accordingly?  that is what is happening up here in nor-cal and we have been told its tower work.  hmmmmmm

That is bizarre. I have no idea.

Not sure what it is exactly, but a year ago in other parts of the country they were having issues with the network providing the wrong time during NV installment.  The issues eventually gets fixed.

Temporary fix for the user was to deselect "use network provided time" on their phone.

I had to go to the Sprint Repair Store in Folsom today, so I ran Sensorly from Rancho to Folsom, then back to Rancho. I didn't get anything 4G until I got back to Rancho. When I got off of 50 and started heading south on Zinfandel, my phone gave me the tone when my signal check told me I had LTE. My son looked at my phone and it had already turned back to 3G. Then, near the Progressive building, it happened again. Maybe some work is going on. Possibly at the Gold Camp tower, but I haven't seen any physical work going on and when I drove by after I got those tones, it still looked like the legacy panels were up there. I also noticed that I was having eHRPD instead of EV-DO. In progress indeed....

When we were just getting into Reno last night the wife's iphone 5 told her she was in Denver..was weird. Corrected itself a little while later..

Speed test just after boom town.

We are at the Nugget and my phone has LTE here in the room and throughout the casino

Dude sprint service gettin bad by day I don't get it

It get's worse before it gets better. The cell site north of Fry's is in the process of having its approved permit being issued to a contractor that began paying the fees and turning in associated docs today. Wouldn't surprise me if they're beginning to mess with the legacy equipment and stockpiling new gear.

GPS Antenna's being replaced or adjusted on the tower you are connected to dictates your phone's time. They must be adjusting new GPS Antenna's on the tower you are connected to so therefore your phone pulls down the time from some other GPS Source further up the line. Although I would think your phone's own GPS Antenna would help dictate the time as well, but it is all probably related to the tower undergoing work.

I would never expect this all the time but I got it last night and will take it

I think it gives an example of the potential of this network.

Wow that's very nice. I remember flipping out getting 31 megs down last year in Fairfield when coming back to Sac from the bay.

Don't know if this is old news, but I got lte while working ata jobsite next to Foodmax on sunrise in citrus heights. Only had 2 bars while in the parking lot.

On another note - when is Rancho gonna get lte?! Not "new Rancho", but Olson & Zinfandel Rancho. Cordova High Rancho. I drove up to a tech working on a tower back in May (Coloma & McGregor) and he said it would be live in "2 weeks". Yeah right. One of my clients is a Sprint employee who originates/retains Sprint business customers. She indicated by the end of August.August is outta here in 4 days..
