Network Vision/LTE - Minnesota Market

For all you Premier Sponsors out there with the ability to track GCI's, this is a call for data!! The MN market threads have been pretty nonactive as of late! If anyone out there has a tri-band phone and is willing to submit some Signal Check logs, that would be excellent! Head on over to the Premier thread for MN!!

This is the only tower in Willmar as of right now that is not broadcasting LTE. Of course, it is my home tower...

I'm really hoping they get this tower live, because it covers my house AND school.

I second this, every little bit helps. Once B26 starts rolling out in larger numbers, it will be helpful to have the tower GCIs extrapolated to where we can know what tower it is just by ID. Even if it's only one or two towers, every little helps!

I'm not a premier sponsor, but I have band 26 from this tower. There's a GCI number in there. I'm not sure if this is the kind of info you guys want, just figured I'd throw it out there.py6usamy.jpg

Do know with 100% certainty which tower that is? Like, the ID of it when you click on it in the NV Sites Complete map?

I was out on a golf course near paynesville, 56362, and service was terrible, even though things are upgraded.  Really hope the site needs to be optimized, always had great serivice , now it was in and out of service, nexus 5.  Anyone know anything about this.

Probably the optimization in combination with whether or not B26 is enabled on any tower near you. That being said, I've had issues with the N5 on certain radios, especially the .15 one that everyone uses to get B41. Could that be it?

I live in Willmar, and when I pass through Paynesville to go to St. Cloud, I get good LTE in town. However, I'm not sure where the golf course is located. I have an LG G2, so yours should be better...

The golf course is located just south of the high school west end of town. I was in and out of service and little LTE.  Not sure what is going on.  Just doesn't seem good, with 1x800 I thought service penetration would be good for voice.  Even roamed on Verizon in town maybe its my nexus who knows... Only time will tell..

My Nexus 5 is terrible for LTE service around Mankato and Willmar. My friend with a note 2 had excellent LTE all the way to Olivia and I lost LTE 5 miles south of town with the nexus. I don't think people know what they are talking about with the antenna in the nexus.

I'm from Willmar. LTE is awful here. As soon as you get over either bridge on each side of town, LTE is not usable/non existent.

The most recent update on the "NV sites complete" map looked like a TON happened in the metro area! That's always nice to see! Still waiting on the last tower in Willmar to get LTE so I can get it at home and school. Hopefully that will be soon so we can get some LTE 800 going! I've noticed LTE 800 is going pretty good around Burnsville and the airport areas!

Was at MSP this morning sitting on a plane outside gate A and was getting band 41 with a download of 36. A lot better signal and speed than inside the terminal.

I got 54mbps there 2 months ago. Was pleasantly surprised.

My service has just been terrible with my phone and I have 5 lines, all off contract except 1.  I'm ready to switch if service doesn't dramatically improve with a new phone, so I'm going in now to see what they can offer me for a new phone.  I'm on the s4 now and that is just worthless for service, I don't know if I have a dud or what.  What phone would be the best to pick up all the bands, is the S5 the best option now?  I'd prefer a note but I don't think that is Spark ready right? Just the S5?

I would say a G2 or a N5 (though there are apparently some issues in terms of reception with the latest update). They are both, to my knowledge, Spark enabled by default. To be fair though, I have a slight bias against Samsung and have not really looked into the S5 much.

Exactly.  That and the CSFB issues that the tri-band handsets such as the Nexus experiencing on towers not upgraded to 3g 800 mhz as yet (not sure about your local tower).  Stay patient, this should be addressed soon.  Much of the delays in my experience are related to towers waiting and waiting and waiting for fiber connections to be installed.  Not Sprint's fault, the fiber vendor dragging their feet or high demand for fiber

in that area and they do need to dig usually.
