And you believe this to be a "new Sprint feature"? While we appreciate your first post, this was neither "new" nor a "feature" even a decade ago. It is simply part of the IS-41 core network for CDMA1X.

Didn't even know there was such a option.

Now I do.

Makes the post worthwhile then. :tu:

Its very helpful when tethering and you dont want your data connection do be interrupted.

Doesn't matter on SVDO or SVLTE phones.

Most Sprint however don't, primarily applicable to phone sold before 2012 and w/o LTE.

I think it was a useful point.

New feature? No.

Presentation is a large part of the message. The all caps subject line is a bit much for something that is not even remotely new. It may be new to some but not to those who have been around the wireless block a few times.

Nice post, been with Sprint frever along with other friends never heard of it, though its sort of like just muting? wish we had something like iphone maybe we do only allow certain list of numbers through regardless of setting. You know emergencies from family etc.

You know what would be nice? A list of all these feature codes (the ones that work), and what they do.

This seems like something that could get enabled (perhaps even by accident, or as a prank) and then have somebody have no idea how to disable it. Or why calls don't come in, in the first place.

I really like how the you can use the do not call feature in the iphone, built right into the settings.

That list would be great. I had a sprint phone years ago that allowed you to screen your voicemails in real time. I now wonder if that was a phone feature or a network feature.

That was just that phone 8300

I believe on the EVO 4G LTE you have the option to block a particular contact, so it's kind of the do not disturb feature...? No calls, no messages from that particular contact.... It's under the contacts settings....

You humble me with your knowledge Sensei. Ah, Sensei Robert, Master of all things Sprint!

Looks like it was a couple of phones that did that. I think I had a Samsung in candybar form and the wife says she had a Kyocera also in candy bar form. Both allowed you to screen voicemails. Which make was the 8300?

I hate it when a perfectly good joke gets wasted.

How many hidden features are there.

This is why we should have a list :D

    • Spent a lot of time in Westchester this weekend, specifically Yonkers and White Plains. I mapped three AT&T Nokia -> Ericsson conversions. I was super impressed with T-Mobile's macro density and not so much with AT&T's. In Yonkers it seems like T-Mobile macros outnumber AT&T macros 3 to 1 and in White Plains, 2 to 1. Another surprise was the lack of small cells on AT&T in both cities. While Cellmapper shows White Plains having no small cells, I did manage to find one in the Church Street neighborhood. While it's only one, it's an indication to me that T-Mobile intends on expanding n41 density with small cells in the city. On the other hand, in Yonkers T-Mobile has a ton of LTE small cells but none of them have been upgraded to 5G yet as far as I can tell. Crown Castle has been moving super fast in NYC and Long Island to upgrade and install new 5G small cells so I can only assume it's either a permitting or backhaul issue that's stopping them from moving full steam ahead there. — — — — — Came across this cool site in Yonkers with Verizon, T-Mobile, and Dish present.
    • Other two sectors finally installed. Hopefully it goes live soon though I know from past experience that these new builds can take weeks and in some cases months to go live.
    • Which is not surprising given that Verizon’s entire 5G network consists of only C-band and mmWave in most of their coverage area. I’m more surprised that despite having a 5G network that’s almost entirely made up of only two super fast and super high capacity bands, both T-Mobile and AT&T showed higher average speeds on 5G according to OpenSignal. I would’ve expected Verizon to be a close second to T-Mobile but it was a blowout.
