They all have been upgraded. Just waiting on backhaul. Hopefully they don't use CenturyLink in that area.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I know there is only one down in Menasha that technically needs to be "upgraded."

I don't know about you all, but I've actually noticed quite a decline in data speeds in Green Bay recently. I'm hoping this it's due to some tower upgrades.....maybe even Spark upgrades.

Has anyone started a North Wisconsin map/spreadsheet thread yet?  I can't seem to find one.

I wanted to take a look before leaving for Oshkosh.

The only useful data I can find is the sensorly overlay map in the premier section.

As I'm not a Premier sponsor, I can't say if there is a spreadsheet in there. But I don't think I have seen one for our area, no.

So does anyone know any info regarding when our if we'll see the Spark network in the Green Bay or Appleton area?

I started picking up band 41 by Appleton the other day. Not sure on the extent or official timeline, definitely not widespread yet.

is there a way to know if you're on iPhone?

If you go to the engineering screens it will show you the band you're on. I'm not sure the dialer code you need, I know they've posted it on the iPhone6 thread somewhere.

I had to reread this. I thought you were asking how you would know if you were ON an iPhone. I was going to suggest you flip it over and see if someone took a bite of your Apple. :)

Wanted to let everyone know, as of 10/28, the coverage map on Sprint.com shows Spark coverage for the Sheboygan area!

Going as far north from Howards Gorve, south to almost Gibbsville and as far west to Plymouth.

Well then... As I sit here getting my haircut I'm getting my first taste of B41 in Appleton! Actually first time ever I've been on Band 41...

Not bad either... 52 ms, -106, 26 down, 5 up... I'm happy with that!

I was right next to the strip mall by Kohls on KK (Calumet) or Appleton East side.

I would definitely consider upgrading to at least a sponsor or a premier sponsor, there is a TON going on in the North Wisconsin market over the next 180 days!

Nice! Money is a little tight right now but I'll follow this thread for some good stories!

B41 is popping up all over in Appleton now...  :D

The Kohls on Northland and the Fox River Mall in the food court are just a few. They have really made a lot of progress here this year. Once the rest of North Wisconsin gets all towers to at least one band of LTE, Sprint is going to ROCK!

I've already impressed a few Verizon customers on B41 when all they could get was 3G...  ;)

but no B41 up in Wausau yet. I believe that only two towers got LTE this year so far. But once they do the optimization on the network here should really be good.

I have received word that Rhinelander, WI has a tower for LTE on top of the Frontier building in town but it has not been activated yet.

Band 25? Great to hear they're FINALLY getting LTE up there.

So many 3G only sites in our market still.

I am not sure but I will come back to the thread when it is up and running. I will also record it in Sensorly. I was on my way back from family yesterday and noticed I was getting LTE in Tomahawk when driving back up on Hwy 51. Merrill has LTE as well.

Exciting news! I've received the thumbs up from Robert and with the help of uecker87 to get started, I'll be creating a premier North Wisconsin map/spreadsheet thread for all of us to keep tabs on our towers and join in the B41 tracking fun!  :D

I'm still in the early stages of creating everything. But for the time being - so you can play along at home - we can start to track and getting confirmation on bands, GCI's, TAC's, and as we go along we can tweak it. Especially since I'm still learning as I go to.

Happy hunting!

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
