No eHRPD in Del Mar (near 15th St & Camino Del Mar). Just CDMA 3G.

I think I found a new personal speedtest record for Sprint 4G LTE in San Diego County in terms of download speed. I got this on the corner of Camino Ruiz & Mira Mesa Blvd in the Mira Mesa community of San Diego.

Yep. The tower is the flagpole at the NW corner in the shopping center.

Sprint just turned on LTE at the tower off of Mira Mesa Blvd. and Scranton Road (near the 805). I don't think it's on the acceptance maps yet.

I seen an LTE update on sponsor map that went live in San Ysidro. The many times I've been to the outlets down that way, data, voice, and service was pretty much useless. I wonder how it is now after the LTE went live just recently?

Over here at work in Encinitas, it looks like crews recently tweaked a site around the corner (Garden View/Via Montoro) compared to the low 20s up, and 4-6 down speeds since May. Average up speeds are ranging between 25-28, and down speeds ranging from 7-10 on many occasions.

Try a San Diego speed test server.  I get over 35Mbps on many sites in San Diego

Did some mapping in PB and MB today.  Only PB showed up with LTE active at around the Rec Center on Diamond.  I have been checking for the last few months since I mapped a weak signal at Crown Point which is now stronger and also a signal on the east side of Fiesta Island (via bicycle).  It's clear from looking at the Fiesta Island Sensorly map just how effective the 6' high sand dunes/berms are at blocking the LTE signal.  

 

Anyone in PB?  Any LTE signal there?  There is a site there with "2 data speed upgrades"

 

From my observation since we started getting LTE, all "2 data speed upgrades" are confirmed in San Diego with LTE.

 

I also mapped some new LTE on Voltaire near Catalina in OB last week....it's spreading.  Voltaire speed was 8.73 down.  This is the first week that it has shown up so I'm hopeful for the near future

Can some of you gurus tell me what I am looking at here?  

 

This is in San Diego and is right next to some current telecommunications construction in Mission Bay Park.   There has been an ongoing trenching and construction project for the last month which might well be to bring fiber to the Sprint site on the Hayatt hotel .  In what seemed like overnight, these 2 sites located on brand new street lights appeared.  I'm fairly sure that one of them is Verizon but would appreciate feedback about what I am looking at here.  I'm trying to figure this out.  I'm guessing that some other carriers are taking advantage of the fiber backhaul that Sprint is bringing to the area.

Went to the Cowboys/Chargers game on Sunday, sitting in Plaza Section 20, Row 20, under the loge level overhang and I was sitting in a cell phone blackhole. I was in the mindset of not botheing to use data, because with any venue of that size concentrated in a small area, data is going to be overloaded. I wasn't even that much surprised about having text message issues in trying to send them. What I was surprised with though I've never seen my phone go from roaming to native coverage so much. The only thing I can think of maybe because of my seating location, was causing all of the roaming issues.

I had the same exact issues last Dec when I was at the Panthers/Chargers game. I was in the field section. Data was useless, couldn't text, couldn't make or receive calls either. Outside of the stadium, data was super slow and lagging. About a mile away from the stadium, all was fine.

I hope the developer fix the location part of the speedtest app. This was in Encinitas today, and the location shows this test was made in downtown LA.

And I see they've been getting the same typical response we've heard from Sprint reps for how long now? It would be interesting to know what cell services other police/emergency agencies use, and have contracts with throughout SD county.

And San Diego is not getting 800Mhz anytime soon which cannot cover the gap. 4G coverage has not improved for the past 3-6 months.  They need to hurry up with the 4G coverage.

 

Voice hasn't been so great lately, getting too many drop calls.  Pre-NV we rarely drop calls, now today when driving cannot even hold on a call.

Totally agree! For the past 2 1/2 weeks, I can't use my phone that much at home, due to very poor or no service. I've called Sprint about the issue many times, and everytime I call, I'm speaking with someone from overseas on the line explaining the issues I'm having. No credits given toward my bill, no effort to which towers are down and/or upgraded.
