Is there anyway to check if 1x is on 800mhz? I have a GS3 and refuse to upgrade with Sprint until I can get a usable signal at my house.

 

How does it show up in debug? I know that I won't see band26 on LTE with this phone.

Going in two weeks without LTE now on both of my triband devices. What's Ericcson doing?? It's definitely an eCSFB issue. Should I try calling Sprint about it or should I just hang tight?

I think you should since we are a launched LTE and spark market.

Band 26 mostly has the ecsfb issues now band 41 and 25 is clear of those issues for the majority of the market.

Yep its all over Ocala. People are mad at sprint over here for buying a spark phone and being on 3g while regular LTE devices get lte

Just about all of CR 210 and a bit north of it. It really sucks.

I thought GMO sites couldn't broadcast band 26. I'm here to say that's a lie

 

A GMO site cannot do Band 26.  It doesn't have the antennas to do it.  You probably encountered a full build site with ground mount radios.  About 10% of all full build sites have ground mounted radios.

Well signal still blows in the old St. Augustine square. Staying here until tomorrow and was hoping that some B26 love would keep my phone's battery from melting in my pocket. There is some 1x800 but it is no better than the 1x1900 at the moment.

St Augustine histic district needs another tower. No band is going to help. Its really hard to get new towers that way though.

Well 1x800 did allow me to send texts where 1x1900 would not. I think that if Ericsson were competent enough to properly optimize the low band frequencies in the area we would be having a much better experience there.

Yeah, downtown St. Auggy is absolutely dreadful. A few of my friends that have AT$T and Verizon have terrible service there as well. That area just needs more sites.

CR210 has LTE again but for some reason B26 is not live anymore. It's like they undid the steps they took getting it working. Lol

I'm fairly sure that B26 is still in testing. It's just too inconsistent at this point. Not to mention the eCSFB issues.

Band 26 at my home comes and goes usually in the evening hours. Along with 1x 800. I believe its still in testing.

I have been on band 26 almost exclusively all weekend, even though band 25 is strong. I also noticed that on the highway all through St Augustine the band 26 signal allows me keep a strong LTE signal in places I'd drop to 1x before. It is starting to look promising, but once you get off of I95 and go onto the surface streets of St Augustine, it seems as if the signal isn't reaching as far as it used to. I have been falling back to 1x a lot more often lately in town.

A little off topic, but it sure is fun beating up on AT&T with my lowly single band iPhone 5. Haha.

 

Last night we were in San Marco with a bunch of friends (all of which have AT&T). One of my buddies busted out his new HTC M8 and started showinf off his speedtests, which prompted a race, if you will. Needless to say, they all couldn't believe their eyes when my Sprint iPhone trounced their AT&T LTE. It was consistently 18-25mbps while theirs struggled to get above 8-10mbps.

 

They had excellent signal, while my B25 signal was about -105dbm.

 

This happens a lot but people are so in denial about it and have such a strong dislike for the Sprint name that they just can't believe it. Sad really.

 

I've said it before, but I own devices on other networks and my Sprint iPhone is usually always faster, even on a 5x5mhz B25 carrier. I can't wait to finally pick-up a Tri-band phone. Then I'll really show them! [emoji41]

EDIT: Probably the best part of this was the ping times that I forgot to mention. My ping has consistently been 30-35ms and last night it was exactly 35ms on all of the tests. Their pings were significantly higher (80-100ms) in every test.

Sprint is a lot better than people give them credit for. Now with band 26 online my wife gets LTE all around town and in places that she would normally roam. She was wanting to switch carriers up until two weeks ago. Now she loves her service and I do too. ????

I'm probably going to wait for the LG G3 and jump back over to Android next month, so Tri-band is in my future, I just hope Sprint gets the eCSFB issue on B26 under control by then. So by the time you purchase your G3 you should be fine.

I'm glad you're not experiencing eCSFB issues any longer! That makes me feel much better. I have to be able to make/receive calls as well as have a reliable data connection, so working eCSFB is a must in my situation. I like how the iPhone 5S/C handles the situation by effectively not using eCSFB at all as well as my single-band iPhone 5.

 

Can't wait for the G3, though! I almost bought an HTC M8 last week because I'm so impatient. But, the combination of eCSFB issues and the upcoming G3 kept me from doing it. It's going to hurt a little bit to leave the Apple ecosystem, but I feel it's time. I have a ton of other Apple products, so all is not lost.

 

I'm also hoping my new 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sport doesn't have issues syncing with Android. The infotainment system is a little buggy, even with iOS.
