Sprint is really slow on upgrading fresno .. I have a buddy who works for t mobile and he says he knows a few people who are doing sprint upgrades and they are having issues with landlords getting to the sites and getting enough equipment to work on the sites .. That there currently on back order ...

Can you please ask your friend if tmobile is adding backhaul to their reedley site? When I had them their supposed 3g was slow as dialup.

I have now found 3 fresno sites in progress. Well, technically 4 but that includes the one I found back in October.

I am seeing a lot of man lifts near Sprint sites.  They must be calling in the army!  Nice to see progress.

Well Fresno IS the only area where there is Sprint sites left to do. All the others in your guys markets have been converted so where else would they go?

Fresno will beat greater sacramento MTA as we do have 4x more sites than fresno up here (200ish iirc) and are way behind.

Sprint just added 20 more cities...with Visalias, Porterville and Bakersfield as part of the new cluster.  Now we just wait for Spark to arrive as well

Couldn't stop close to this one, so I had to take the pic while in motion. There were at least three CBA trucks at this site. It looks like the new base hardware is in place, but I didn't get much of a window to look into the enclosure.

Been following this site for a long time as I wait for LTE to finally drop in Fresno. Happy to hear that we might  get to see some LTE FINALLY. Quick question about the towers. How far do these towers send out the LTE signal. I work on Ventura and Santa Fe here in Fresno by the train station, and I get HORRIBLE 3G signal out here. I just want to know if I'm getting excited about LTE for nothing, seeing that I spend most of my day here on this side of town. Will I get to enjoy the future awesomeness of LTE?? Thanks for any info on this.

How far the signal goes is unique to each site and how it's set up. PCS LTE will roughly cover the current EVDO footprint, and SMR LTE will expand on that a little bit. If you have, or upgrade to, a tri-band device, you will be set.

If you get a crappy signal now, you're not going to see much of an improvement until 1x 800 and LTE 800 are deployed. LTE 1900 might reach your location, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Unfortunately, the downtown sites are structure-mounted, so their deployment cycle will likely be longer than the standard pole-mounted sites.
