Network Vision/LTE - Lower Central Valley Market (Fresno, Bakersfield, Visalia)

I'm going to be in the Tulare/Visalia area for the holidays. I will run Sensorly on my trip down from Sacramento on 99, so we'll be able to get maps for both my market and the LCV market. I'll also run it while I'm driving around Tulare, Visalia, and Reedley/Kingsburg/Selma visiting family and friends, too. I'll try to have either my son or husband take screen shots if I get LTE signal if I happen to be driving.

After even further analysis, that's not even a Sprint site. Sprint is on the one in the background.

Bummer, I wasn't sure which tower had the sprint radios. Here is a close up of the North tower:

Sprint or not, it looks like the panels are up today, and they are noticeably larger that the previous ones:

Hopefully we'll see Sprint follow suit soon!

Great news visalia lte is up near golden west high school

I can confirm this, I was driving by there today and after your post decided to fire up sensorly:

My signal strength wasn't great so I'm not sure if I could get faster speeds closer to the tower, but the speeds still beat 3G.

Ok here are my screen shots

Those are really good speeds...  And Target is notorious in having awful, awful reception and speeds. Glad to hear it's looking up. It is very possible that they're firing up Visalia.

I was at the Lowe's on the northside off Demaree and that's where I got the first shot of LTE, then went to my mother in laws house  near the walmart grocery store, and they have horrible service and it was still 3G and few bars, but hopefully they will up the power when it goes "live".  Also still have no bars to 1 bar at my house off Pinkham and Walnut and still on 3G, but seeing that LTE on my screen last night left me giddy as a school girl, I hope they get most of Visalia covered

Too many trees in the area of Walnut and Pinkham. I think the Acequia site, once live, should help you with that. It seems to be the only one not broadcasting LTE in Visalia where Network VIsion work has been done.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
