  1. I dont want to turn this into an android vs iOS thing, but its well known that iOS is a closed box, which is fine if your not into tinkering. But to write android off as a clunky OS is foolish. Im afraid iOS is dated at best in comparison.
  2. Too bad it was with a somewhat crappy android phone.. Well known as one of the least desirable of the next generation android phones for many reasons.
  3. Galaxy phones okish phones, but not indicative of android as a whole by a long shot! Pick up a Nexus 5 or an M8 and you will have a better understanding of what a proper android phone is.
  4. Just did some testing on ATT vs Sprint vs Tmobile near my home in the Bronx, ATT 4mb down .50 up 42ping (Did another test and ATT throttles my buddy to .50 after 5GB even though he is on an unlimited plan) Tmobile 1mb down 11mb up 46ping Sprint 38mb down 14mb up 48ping. Wish I had access to a Verizon phone, but this gives us an idea what direction things are going..
  5. I get 20mb+ on B41 at herald Sq, almost everyday, if you speak of indoor performance, its a completely different animal.
  6. During the weekend the network load is completely different than during the week. I was on 45th and 8th ave, and my speeds were between 40-50mb on B41, and 1.5mb+ on 3G. That is perfectly possible, considering its over the weekend. Also, B41 and 26 is present in that area offloading a bit.
  7. I expect them to be #1 in all official Spark markets by then!
  8. The problem with FiOS is Verizon's total disregard of net neutrality laws. I have friends that cannot run Netflix at full HD during peak hours, which is insane considering one of them pay for a 300mb/s connection!!. I'll stick with Cablevision and there "slower" 101mb/s, thank you very much!
  9. Yup! I can attest to that, and pretty much faster in Manhattan as well... BK is next!
  10. Basically the reason that Band 25 (1900Mhz frequency) is overburdened is that sprint only has a 5x5Mhz channel limited to 37.5mb/s maximum over wireless, so no matter what the backhaul (in this case Fiber) that is being fed into it, it is limited by that small lane of 5x5Mhz, Sprint only owns that much spectrum, so there is little it can do to change that fact. But they also have another 5x5 slice on Band 26 (800Mhz frequency) to not only balance the load, but also improve coverage, but despite that , it's still only a 5x5 allotment, and still limited to that 37.5mb/s. Now Band 41 (2500/2600Mhz frequency) Sprint has a massive amount of spectrum, so much so, that they can deploy tech that can do over 1gb/s over wireless, (not mb/s GB/S!) Currently they are doing one chunk of 20Mhz, and adding another 20Mhz in the next few months. (looking at around a 180mb/s max) This is also where those 8T8R antennas come in handy, they can spread the love of Band 41 at almost the same coverage level of Band 25. Meaning, where you see Band 25, you will probably see Band 41 (probably slightly less coverage), and instead of limiting it to only Clear towers, its going on every sprint tower. Hope this makes sense...
  11. Any sign of B26 around your way? I get B26 when I'm roaming around my building. Its pretty decent, from 5-10mb sec..
  12. Looks like they might have optimized my local B41 tower, it sticks onto B41 longer and I got a slightly stronger signal. Now, I keep it all around my Apt. Oh, and my speeds increased some more...
  13. Currently they are in test mode around the country. Typically they turn them on for a very short period of time during the testing phase. The second question im not 100% sure what you mean, but if your asking what tech is being used on the ground before transmitting it over wireless, its all scalable fiber. So if sprint needs 1gb\s or 10gb\s its already capable of that thanks to NV 1.0 requirement, which scalable fiber being one of them. Of course since every site currently transmitting LTE already has Fiber, theyre wont be any waiting around for it to be installed, which caused a huge percentage of the delays.
  14. You could try using one of those background service killers, and go one by one till you find the culprit. This happened to me for a short period of time. I'm chalking it up to some conflicting app that I stopped using.
  15. While we are on the subject of PCS signal, seems my B25 performance has been seeing a slight bump in performance (2-3mb/s higher) Im guessing this is due to B26 and B41 being more prevalent. Its not quite the same that I saw at the beginning of the LTE rollout (12-15mb/s around my way) but 6-8mb/s down vs the 2-4mb/s that became more the norm early this year.

    LG G3

Thats bizarre so it must be some kind of auto play command coming from your car thats causing it to do that.

    LG G3

Im assuming you have media files saved directly onto the device? I use the bluetooth on my VW GLI every day without issues. I have never seen the LG music app. BTW, yes nice car, my buddy was about to pick one up and decided to wait until they release it with a new powertrain..
  18. A ton more B26 on Bronx river drive by Yonkers...
  19. Id post it there as to avoid any confusion, and also for other users.

  21. Hmm, thats interesting, is there is a list somewhere of specific 4x2 MIMO devices? Or are we to assume all Tri-band devices are?
  22. Current phones are completely compatible, but are limited to a single 20Mhz block. So we wont be able to take advantage of the carrier aggregation. But we will definitely see the benefits of its expanded stability and coverage.
  23. Just to be clear, once again, as great as 8t8r will be (and im sure it will be awesome!), NYC still has PLENTY Band 41 coverage, (except in a few pockets) also the current setup only allow a single 20Mhz carrier to be deployed. But in comparison to B25 which is limited to 10Mhz (5x5Mhz) even at its best maxes out around 35mb second, whereas the current Band 41 maxes out around 80mbs. Even during rush hour Band 41 holds its own (between 15-30mbs) Here is another test i did a few blocks from my house on unburdened sector today...
  24. No, we are looking at the next few months, no more waiting on backhaul....
