  1. 8T8R antennas aren't broadcasting yet nationwide, right? Or do NV2.0 sites require additional backhaul to run them, hence the delay?
  2. I think the 8T8R panels have been installed in Endicott @ Skye Island Drive. They do not function yet, however. Can't pick up B41, never have seen it. The second rack down is Sprint, am I correct in thinking those are 8T8R B41? Never thought our market was gonna see band 41, this is exciting.
  3. I'll be down at Bethany Beach at the end of August - I expect to have SCP open the entire drive through the state if nobody spots LTE800 by then.
  4. It's probably not optimized yet. Before optimization the antennas will be at full downtilt and lower power levels. Once optimized, they get tilted up for a broader swath, and power increases. Right now, most of the upstate NY 800 acceptances are probably not very good. I know down in Binghamton the 1x1900 has far greater coverage. My phone barely ever hits 1x800, and certainly not at the fringe of 1900mhz service..... yet. Just a matter of time.
  5. Update: Both the Jabra "TALK" bluetooth headsets I purchased cannot maintain voice quality during a known HD Voice conversation. It sounds like a regular non HD voice call over these headsets, and if we switch back to handset-only, the quality is restored again. Seems like they're using the term as marketing lingo only. Gonna return them and keep shopping for a headset that actually can maintain the quality of an HD voice call.
  6. B26 LTE is everywhere in Broome County now. They must have gone around over the weekend popping in the carrier cards! I confirmed it in Kirkwood, Vestal, Endicott, and Endwell. Every site that is 1x800 enabled seems to have B26 running on it now. They are definitely not optimized yet though. B25 is stronger in some areas where the downtilt and power of 800 is still too low.
  7. Picked up two Jabra "HD Voice" enabled headsets for me and my girlfriend yesterday. I'll let everyone know if sound quality is improved over our old non-HD 'sets. They were only $23 each, and seem to only have one microphone, but the proof is in the pudding.
  8. Now that I read the Egypt part... Yes! On another note, Emmaus still doesn't have any B26. Maybe this week they'll continue driving around to enable it. If its on in Bethlehem, they're probably starting to make the rounds. A few weeks ago it was only B25 here.
  9. I just grabbed some B26 in North Bethlehem going up center street towards 22. I think it was coming from the Santander bank site. First time I've seen it down here!
  10. Well hurry up already!! I'm in Bethlehem for the weekend, will check out Easton as well tomorrow.
  11. Tried two sites, one in Endwell, one in Endicott. Both have non-functioning eCSFB. Calls to my phone when on LTE go straight to voicemail. However, the 4G site down the road in Owego has functioning eCSFB, for what it's worth. Found that out at my new job last week.
  12. Got a call today from tech support regarding my eCSFB ticket. Apparently four sites in the Binghamton/Endicott area were fixed today, can't wait to get home and try it. It's about time!
  13. You have a lot to learn young grasshopper. :-) 800Mhz LTE (Band 26) will essentially mimic 3G coverage once it is turned on. It is not widespread in the Upstate NY market yet, only B25 1900Mhz is.
  14. So we've all got 1x800 now on almost all of the full build sites, finally! The Binghamton market is still having issues with eCSFB, regrettably. I opened up a ticket yesterday with Sprint's technical line, hoping the engineers look into it and actually find something wrong. Any eCSFB issues in Syracuse or Albany? Or do triband devices place and receive calls just fine up there? As far as LTE800, I've gotta assume it's just a matter of time for us now that 800 voice is accepted. :-) And hopefully the GMO sites will be knocked out by the end of the year along our connecting highways.
  15. Does a bluetooth headset need to support any specific technologies to take advantage of HD voice? I got my girlfriend a base model Plantronics BT headset last year and it sounds pretty awful, but when she turns it off, the call is super clear again on the handset.
  16. Looks like we were on the same schedule, mine just updated too!
  17. Is a mod ever gonna fix the typo in the title? I'm getting a nervous twitch from it
  18. The maps might be for what the cellular coverage will be after B25 optimization, or when B26 is finally complete. But yeah, right now they seem a bit optimistic.
  19. Blips of 800 down here in Endicott today. Really really hope this is the last time they tease us down here and it goes 100% tonight. 7PM: It's off again.
  20. This has always piqued my curiosity. Say it's just a run of the mill Sprint site - 3 panels, 6 RRUs. (Not including the computers and equipment that are in the "huts" at the base of the tower) Is it like running 3-4 120v window air conditioners in my home? Or way, way above that? I've got no clue what kind of juice it takes to broadcast cellular signals to an entire town.
