  1. Do we know what the optimization process for B41 is yet? Did Clear B41 sites go through a non-optimized, then optimized phase where they performed better? Anyone know if 8T8R Sprint B41 sites will go through a similar low power initial phase, much like the B26 rollout?
  2. I should have said, "easily" check LTE bands. *3001#12345#*..... *3001#12345#*.....sigh... Unless perhaps iOS8 opened up Signalcheck functionality? I wonder if MikeJeep has looked into this yet.
  3. Just realized I won't be able to *easily check LTE bands when this phone comes in. Here's to hoping Field Test Mode still works and allows us to at least view numerical signal strength rather than "balls" of LTE.
  4. Sprint's coverage map for lower DE is definitely a bit optimistic right now! It shows Milton has LTE. I couldn't even get 1xRTT outdoors in Milton at the Dogfish brewery. There just aren't enough sites. It looks like someone was a little hasty coloring in the maps. Perhaps we will get an up-to-date NV Sites Complete map from Robert today or tomorrow to see if the new LTE sites are actually true. On another note: Lewes and Bethany beach are so far from sites that the 1900Mhz bands are unusable at them. It will be odd if 1x800 and LTE800 are the only two frequencies available on the beach once the rollout is complete. Site placement seems to be a bit poor in DE, this state needs some money thrown at it for new sites.
  5. Discover card covers your device against loss or damage for one year, all you have to do is buy the phone with it. I used it for my 5S' damaged screen last year. Got a replacement phone from Apple for $250, sent Discover the bill, got a check in the mail a few weeks later. Couldn't have been easier. It's a great perk of having their card. They extend the warranty 1 year past the manufacturer's warranty as well.
  6. Now that Hawaii has LTE, the local members have good reason to make a nominal donation to S4GRU for access to maps
  7. Are the B41 8T8R panels being installed in Dover? Just not turned on yet? Can't think of a better place for them.
  8. Preordered for my SERO-P plan! And extended my contract to 9/2016.
  9. And if not, it'll probably come with the Apple Pay iOS8 update shortly after the launch. (They said in the keynote it wouldn't be available on day 1)
  10. I can answer a few questions. An international unlock from Sprint is easy - you should have no trouble with that. Hawaii is just starting to get LTE, they've got a handful of sites recently accepted. Check out the Hawaii market thread, there are a lot of spottings within the last month. LTE just started to pick up steam and the users are getting very excited.
  11. Apple mentioned that with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling combined, they will be able to do handoffs from Wi-Fi to the cellular network seamlessly. Is VoLTE really required for a smooth handoff, or is it possible Apple has figured out a way to handoff from Wi-Fi to 1x?
  12. Since VoLTE is just voice over IP, I think SVLTE is a given no matter what carrier it is.
  13. Borrowed a 17" Macbook Pro from a tech guy at work... today is going to be a good day.
  14. Yep - the non-live version should be viewable on all platforms a few hours after the live stream is over. They edit it and chop it down a bit usually.
  15. Yup - "Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later."
  16. I don't have credentials to get on the Wi-Fi network at work with my MacBook to watch the keynote... This is going to kill me. You can only watch live on an iDevice, Apple TV, or a Mac with Safari. Gonna see if they'll let me borrow a company iPad for.... reasons...
  17. You're welcome! Is there any chance your apartment building has window tinting applied? What is it built out of? Solid steel?
  18. I hope it works out for you, it sounds like the perfect solution. And who knows, maybe with time the issue with your site will be corrected if it is indeed an error at the site. (Incorrect power levels or downtilt) It's definitely worth creating a trouble ticket for with Sprint's tech-line. Worst case scenario, they tell you nothing is wrong.
  19. Not sure on the G2, maybe someone else can chime in. The newest Sprint devices have native Wi-Fi calling built in, so it functions just as your phone does when it is connected to the cellular network. Same number, and text/MMS works over Wi-Fi as well. There are a few threads about this over in General Topics I believe, if you want to research this. You would also be able to reap the benefits of HD voice with Wi-Fi calling, something that does not work over the Airave.
  20. Yeah, I don't think Sprint is releasing any "non-spark" smartphones anymore. Just wouldn't make sense.
  21. Or, get a device with Wi-Fi calling/texting and you should be fine at home. Then you can ditch the Airave as well. You do seem quite close though, can you see the site from your house, or is it blocked by anything? 1900Mhz 1x should travel for at least 5 miles, line of sight.
  22. Is there any evidence that supports rumors of this phone not supporting band 41? Triband devices existed when the 5S was released a year ago without it - I see no reason at all why this phone wouldn't have it now.
  23. I've always thought that maybe Sprint is waiting to flip on B41 just in time for the iPhone launch. Their network is going to get flogged with the "iPhone effect" again if it's anything like when the 4S came out.... and by the sounds of it, this is going to be a big launch. Turning on all of the new Sprint B41 gear would really make this launch a pleasant one instead of having B25 absolutely hammered when people are in "play with their new iPhone" mode. I've got nothing to back up my thoughts, but it's just something to mull on. If the iPhones ship this week, there's no better week for Sprint to do this.
